Worried about getting blown up by a big hit is exactly what I was referring to. Sorry for the confusion.Who was worried about Eklund after his first 9 game stint? He showed he had the talent to play at this level even back then, just that he was trying things at the NHL level that maybe would not work or would get him injured by opening him up for a big hit.
Eklund was one of the prospects we could of rushed without actually hurting his development.
Correction. 40 point pace. Still goodHe's on a 43 point pace so it's possible
I think he is, though about 60% of the roster mock-ups I've seen exclude him, but that jsut might be ECBHe's got to be getting a serious look at the Swedish Four Nations team, right?
If I were them I'd take Eklund and Zetterlund, deploy them with a center like Elias Lindholm on a crash-and-bang fourth line.
Is this Eklund the secondary than?I wish we could somehow draft his brother (with a second 1st round pick) only because, as they say, double the Eklund, double the fun.
The one part of his game I didn't see coming is how actively he is chirping and getting under players' skin at the net. He isn't shying away.
I'm going to enjoy watching Eklund and Celebrini run circles around opposition teams.
He’s MidSaw no thread about him. Is he doing Good?
Dude he is at a minimum of 65-70 this year barring any injuryWould love to see him hit 45-50 points this year. Feel like he has a ceiling of being a two way 20g 70p type of player.
The guy is such a great player. I don't think we give him enough love. He does a lot of little things right defensively. Offensively he can pass, shoot, or create opportunities. My only "gripe" is he constantly does the same spin/deke move, which is has become very predictable, but he's still pretty effective despite that.Ekky has been fantastic this season, he really has taken another step and has been our best forward a lot of nights. I fell like this has been overlooked in all the love for our shiny new toys…
So here is some love for Ekky
He unfortunately is getting discarded by some of the fanbase like in Toy Story. Hes not the shiny new toy anymore but he’s proving that he should’ve been drafted much higherThe guy is such a great player. I don't think we give him enough love. IIRC, he was considered a steal on draft day. Now he's finally living up to that potential. I'm glad we've finally got a pretty stacked group of young players like him. That spin move will work consistently in the nhl. His edges are elite. He’s going to have to rely on that. His hands are ok. His shot is mediocre. But he consistently puts up points from his edge work. Would be lethal if he developed a better shotThe guy is such a great player. I don't think we give him enough love. Agreed! Every time I'll say "oh no...", because it's so predictable. Then more often than not, he actually pulls it off.I mean if it keeps working, then why stop?
No arguments here. I'd say he's "good, but not great" at most aspects of the game. That's good enough for me. He's a likeable player that pays attention to the little details.
