Barring a complete collapse, it’s looking promising that the Sens will see some post-season action! IIRC, last time the Sens were in the playoffs, there was at least one home game (vs the Rangers?)where they didn’t sell out. What are the chances that this happens again? IMO it’s disgraceful for a Canadian team not selling out a playoff game!

Well if they don't how about you promise to buy the remaining tickets and distribute them to deserving kids in the Capital region.

Yeah, the last time the Ottawa people blamed the owner and ownership group. Lets see if those whiners actually buy a ticket and support their team! Or are they going to blame Trump that tickets are too expensive?

Price will decide. If they try to gouge people with crazy prices then they won't and they shouldn't. I'm sure it'll sell out if we play Toronto, but otherwise, they need to be reasonable.

Yeah, and have a server that doesn't crash the second it goes on sale would help a lot. The amount of tickets that seemed to go right to the after market was insane. That's why the place wasn't sold out. No doubt Melnyk probably bought 5000 to resell.

They should put aside physical tickets to prevent people from outside the market from getting in on them. Like 24 hours so Ottawa Fans can get the first bite.

From what I've read online STHs for this year and new season ticket holders for next are given a couple rounds to pre purchase tickets. What they do with those tickets is anyones guess.

There are some being sold on stubhub for 270 per at minimum in the nosebleeds.

I have no idea what the pricing will be when it gets released to the general public and how many will be left.

If it's against the Leafs, absolutely yes. Those cockroaches will travel anywhere to see their team lose.

A friend and I are trying to plan a trip to Ottawa for a game, but will probably get priced out.

They always get the choice to buy all 4 rounds, and get charged each round they advance.

Decided to look up average attendance figures for this year = 17,535. Down very slightly from the previous year based on the one source I found.

What an ignorant thing to say. By how you humble brag on here all the time, you seem to be quite secure financially.

Things have not been good economically here for a few years, so I find it difficult to just tell people to pony up.

I have a ticket package and 2 tickets, if we played 3 home games each series en route to the Cup, would cost me over $7k. That's insane, and that's just to get in! No parking or concessions.

So while I want a sold out barn, the cost is absolutely something that has to be considered.

Eight home games left. If they average 17685 the rest of the way they'll be at the same level as last season. Usually the games at the end of the year sell better. They'll likely be above the average for the remaining home games with at least a couple of sellouts.

MTL will be a sellout, so ~19k there, Chi always seems to be a draw too despite sucking. We got over 19k late last year vs them. Same goes for the Pens.

Car might be a tougher sell, Fla generally does ok, as does That. Phi is probably average.

Buffalo and Clb though, idk.

Costs are rarely considered here because this place has a median age around forty, and is populated by people who are in the midst of their full-time, white collar jobs who have no problem cramming their spouse and the kids into the Toyota RAV4/Honda CR-V/Chevy Equinox and spending a night at the game (so long as the kids get back early enough, it's a school night!)

I kid, mostly, but we're users on a message board in 2025. Most of us are of an age where we're past living paycheque-to-paycheque.

I have no idea of the demographic of the posters here, but you don't have to be paycheque-to-paycheque in order to consider how you spend your money.

Lots of people these days make good money and have to be smart. Maybe spending $X on a night of hockey doesn't add up.

They gave SSMs an extremely reasonable price for playoffs for those that renewed. I think that the first round was something like $50-$60 a first round game for the lowest price brackets. The entire playoff package of 16 possible games is about 4K for a pair of tickets. It is charged round by round and f they play less games, the difference gets refunded.

To put that in perspective, if we have the Leafs in the first round, 300s tickets a minimum will sell for $200 on the secondary market since that's what regular season games sell for, and probably closer to $300+.

They make it sound like they don't expect there to be many tickets available since SSMs have first dibs. The big thing is that for better or worse, if they wait until it's confirmed that we play the Leafs to give all the SSMs extras, they will almost certainly sell out.

Someone did a poll last year asking this question, what decade did you start watching hockey. #1 answer was the 90’s, it was a bell curve.

Forums skew older. They are a relics of the past. If you did the same poll on Reddit, Twitter, whatever, I think they would skew younger or be all over the board.

I participated in multiple forums related to my hobbies, and Reddit/Twitter killed them all over the last 10-15 years. It's amazing that HFBoards is still active.
