Would be even better if Houston and Texas play a one game playoff for the division as well.
I really want to see Keuchel vs Tanaka, though.

You would still see it if Texas won. Keuchel pitched last night.
Using a term like 'hot' is so ambiguous. You say the same thing in every sport - it's about the team that is 'hot'. NHL players say that, NFL players say that, NBA players say that. It's all about getting 'hot' and clicking at the same time...
However, getting 'hot' usually means being the best team at the time... Which is usually one of the better teams in the league. The Jays are heavily favored right now... but they're tied for the best record in a more competitive league, and arguably more competitive division.
If the Jays had the same record, but it was equally spread out - as opposed to the post-trade deadline record - they'd probably still be favored. Getting 'hot' doesn't make sense... because a team that is 'hot' is usually good. Also, the Jays run differential is insane... I highly doubt it's because of the run they are on that they are favored.
The Royals have the second best odds in the AL... yet they're one of the 'coldest' teams in the MLB right now; At least the coldest playoff team.
The odds the Royals are getting don't mean a thing in terms of how they will perform in the playoffs.
You can say the statement is ambiguous but it's not if you understand the context behind it with regards to baseball (and how it's different than the other sports). I'm just not going to waste my time explaining it, because honestly I don't even know what the point is anymore.
The Yankees, Astros, Rangers, and Angels will all make tough match ups for various reasons. But the Jays have the talent and quality of roster to beat all of them so it doesn't matter who they play in the ALDS, it's on the players to execute and win.
Haha wow Texas.
How do you slide off the bag?!
Hamels would pitch on three days rest Thursday if we do indeed play the Rangers.
The two double headers are different though. Winning the division is much more important than winning the AL.
Winning the division means you don's have to play in the WC game, and is truly a crap shoot. It's one game win and you move on.
By winning the division you avoid that. I do understand that winning the AL gets you home field throughout, and you also get the WC team that has just used their ace.
To me it's not as important as giving the guys a rest, as has been stated in articles some of the regulars have had very little rest playing 150 games at that point, giving them a day off (yes it resulted in 2 games) could very well turn out to be more valuable then winning the AL.
Personally I don't think it's dumb to debate it, but bullocks in particular can't seem to post with complaining about it, it's been a couple days now, the regulars came back and smoked the Rays. I'm happy.
We're back in the playoffs after 22 years, whether we win the AL or not to me right now is inconsequential. I don't care if we play the Rangers or the WC team first. No matter what we'd get who we get on our way to the World Series.
Why are most good teams so much better at home than the road if home field doesn't matter much?
Speaking from experience. When you have that much momentum going forward, it can be difficult to try and hook your foot on the base. I've over slid the base a few times but I think the fielder only held the tag once or twice.
Angels offense is scary when it clicks. Good thing their pitching sucks.
Well I mean, I know how possible it is. It was a rhetorical question. It's such a big moment how do you ALLOW yourself to slide off the bag?
I would even add wanting to see that one game playoff going into extra innings. Assuming Toronto ends up playing the winner because if they win tonight and tomorrow they get the best record in the AL and play the Wild Card winner.Would be even better if Houston and Texas play a one game playoff for the division as well.
My bad. I interpreted it the wrong way.
