he said he "would like" to stay...... i "would like" a log cabin in the woods and i "would like" a vacation house in the Bahamas, but i can't have both so i make a choice. saying "i would like" is not "lying to the faces of fans"

You have got to be kidding me..

Do you want me to find a quote like:

"I want to be a Devil for life"

but then again want isn't the right word. I can want a log cabin in the woods, doesn't mean I can get it.

How exactly do you want someone to phrase they would like to stay with the team without using the words like or want?

If we can be competitive this year, and if Zajac returns to his old self, then it's probably better we didn't re sign Parise.

If we re signed Parise then we might not have been able to sign Zajac, or if we did, Matteau would be replacing Clowe right now because of the salary cap. And Zajac probably would have got offers from somewhere else that were the same as what Lou gave him. He probably would have had a much better year if playing with Parise.

We probably would of had Schneider either due to cap issues

that fact the he exchanged texts with a good friend of his about the possibility of spending the rest of their careers together has nothing to do with what i asked you to show me.

i asked for a direct quote saying he wasn't going any where. not things he likes or would like.

Not everything is about you (little hint, that's why you weren't quoted in that post). I was providing a source to earlier posters who questioned whether Parise and Suter exchanged texts with eachother about leaving.

But again, THAT IS WHY I AM BOOING HIM.

I could care less what he said to the media. Every upcoming free agent says he would love to remain with his team.

Not every free agent already had his exit plan in mind while wearing a C in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Zach Pari$e....what a lying sack of @%#^!

Truffle, I don't care whether he meant what he said or anything like that.

I hated that he led MARTY to believe he'd be back. THAT'S what I'm ticked off at him for...

At least Clarkie didn't go around saying to everyone "don't worry everyone. I'll be back here" or something to that effect.

He let his slimy-azz agent do the talking and then he left QUICKLY...after making his decision...QUICKLY to go to Toronto for more money.

That gave Lou the time he needed to get to work.

see but thats what i don't understand, i have yet to see a qoute saying "i will be back here." saying "don't worry" doesn't mean anything, drunk drivers say don't worry before the drive off.

and the marty thing i don't understand either, if marty believed he would be back why would he call zach and try to convince him to stay before he signed with minny.

Marty never called to convince him after the fact. He called to convince him and in that convo Zach led Marty onto thinking he will stay

Nope, I went back and added that. Might have had to sign Hiller or someone inferior to Schneider after Marty hung it up.

It was also leaked that he and Suter would be a package deal. It started during mid season in 11-12, and started picking up steam again around May. Right before the SCF started.

This tells me that someone who knew them blabbed to someone, and word got out.

I've heard that line uttered in the media only once in my entire life..

"I'm not going anywhere" "this is where i plan to play the rest of my career" "if we can work out a deal i will be a devil"

basically im asking for ANYTHING direct. not something he said politically to skate through an interview with out getting pinned in a corner about making a decision right there in front of the reporter.

i just figured with 7 pages of people being so pissed because of the fact he said "im not going anywhere" there could be at least one quote to back it up.

or my main point could just be true, people are pissed that we lost an amazing player and instead of just saying that, they are making up a bunch of stuff to justify their anger other then "he left us"

So you are just choosing to completely ignore the exact reason I posted why I will be booing Parise.

Okay.. good talk here. Will do again.

Someone just showed proof them texting each other mid-season and plotting to leave and you said and I quote

We gave you a very valid reason and you wrote it off

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/14/s...-zach-parise-consider-their-futures.html?_r=0

Parise, 27, becomes an unrestricted free agent July 1, and General Manager Lou Lamoriello, Coach Peter DeBoer and several teammates made it clear that they want Parise to stay here. Parise made it clear Wednesday he wants to stay, too.

Although Parise said he could not envision playing for another team, he joked that he planned to shut off his phone while he pondered his future.

(a flat-faced lie, I might add)

“I think this is the first time in five or six years we know who is going to be here next year,†Parise said. “I think everyone likes that.â€

That, of course, is not the only thing. In a 20-minute interview at his locker, Parise gave no indication that he was planning to sign elsewhere when he becomes a free agent. When asked if it was possible he could re-sign with the Devils before July 1, he said, “Absolutely.â€

and then the whole, he told marty he would stay argument.

“The Devils are right in there for him,†Brodeur said. “He’s really weighing his options right now. Hopefully he’ll make the right decision for him, but by no means he’s not thinking about not coming back, that’s for sure.â€

So that's the ONLY time Marty ever spoke about Parise, right?

Surely you have to be kidding me here.. give me a few minutes

You're becoming a joke.

We don't have to psycho-analyze every single comment to figure out a way to let Parise off the hook. At some point in time, it becomes obvious that he never wanted to stay. There's only so many times you can take a comment and figure out a way to take them differently.

Meanwhile.. this isn't even the interview I am talking about (I'm thinking of the one on 660 AM) but..

Have you talked with Zach Parise? Have you heard any direction from Lou Lamiorello in terms of Zach Parise coming back to the Devils?

“One way or the other I think that Lou Lamiorello is on board and it’s going to happen. I think he has a lot of faith in what he accomplishes year in and year out and for sure this is the priority is to try to get Zach back in New Jersey and they are really working hard to do it. I talked to Zach. He is still really interested in coming back.

Let's just continue to completely ignore the very reason TWICE now that I've posted why I will be booing Zach. Let's see how many times you can play dumb.

honestly, the more we go back and fourth the more ridiculous this seems. i will take this loss. Zach Parise is a piece of garbage, he told a bunch of journalists one thing and did another.

doesn't matter what he said and did different depended on where he moved his family and planned to spend the rest of his career. he is not suppose to think about things like that. hes got fans. i get it. you win, he is a horrible person for taking a whole bunch of things that dramatically effected his life and the lives of those around him and didn't take the fans into account. i am now on your side

Please don't ignore this post.

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/audio/865-wfan-audio/marc-malusis-kim-jones-with-martin-brodeur/

“It’s looking good,†he said. “He’s taking his time to make the right decision. The longer he waits, it means that he’s thinking about the Devils a lot. I’m sure a lot of teams are throwing a lot of money and a lot of promises (at) him. But he’s been a Devil all his career, and that’s something that’s tough to give up.â€

So does he think Parise will return?

“I think so. I really think s,†said Brodeur.

I'll tell you one thing that's completely ridiculous here.

You being completely oblivious to what I've now posted THREE times as the reason why I dislike Parise.

You can keep talking about what he said but FOR THE FOURTH TIME, I COULD CARE LESS. That's not why I will be booing him, that's not why I don't like him.

More things that are completely ridiculous?

Zach Parise is a piece of garbage - right, cause I said this where?
he is a horrible person - ditto

Maybe caps will work.

I COULD CARE LESS THAT HE LEFT. THAT'S HIS CHOICE.
THE WAY HE LEFT THOUGH IS WHY I DISLIKE HIM.

You don't text buddies on other teams about joining up with them while leading your team in the playoffs. Sorry, doesn't happen.
