As terrible as the contract is, the signing bonuses are ABSURD. They owe the butt buddies 38 million a piece over the next 24 months.

They'd have to buy him out before it would make and financial sense to even entertain that thought, and that would mean he's dropping in production so badly he's not the best option available and even then, if he didn't outright burn the bridge he scorched it to a near impassible degree, so I Pass.

Jesus, I thought the money went down a little bit after the signing bonuses but Parise doesn't get paid any less than $8 million till '20-21 and then $6 million the next year when he's 37.

Lets say Zach plays 7 more years till hes 36, thats a 3 million cap hit per year for 4 years

If he plays out the full deal they have 1 year at 6 million cap hit

How on earth does the cap hit change? Unless you're referring to cap recapture penalties? The Wild would probably be tagged up the *** if Zach had to retire at 36-37.

Ya, that contract is pretty much toxic and unmovable, regardless of how well or poorly he plays. They're stuck with him, for better or worse.

Parise, definitely. Clarkson, maybe. I don't hate clarktard. Just hate that he's not with us anymore.

I'll miss Clarkson, I already do. Though thinking about his rough 34 game stretch to end last season makes me feel alright about not giving him that contract that Toronto gave him.

I definitely don't think he's as bad as he was during that stretch, but I also don't think he should have gotten 7 years at $5.2 million either.
