If the people who run this franchise watched Yager in the Memorial Cup, and then STILL decided to trade him, that is concerning moving forward.

As an unabashed McG fan, I do not think you're ever going to see him putting up gaudy numbers. His value comes in his addition to a line and what he does for his linemates to make their lives easier on the ice, imo. I don't think that's a bad thing, but I'm not sure that's the right thing to be adding to a team with no real production drivers in their prospect system.

When it was made public McG was on his way out of Winnipeg I wanted Dubas to trade for him, but not at the cost of Yager or a 1st rounder. Don't know if that was even remotely possible though. I still like Yager a lot as a prospect, fwiw, but I don't think he's a foundational piece or building block either.

Neither would ever amount to anything meaningful under Sullivan though, imo. He must be fired if this team wants anything to come from any of their prospects--and that includes the potential top-5 picks they're gonna be stockpiling in short order.

He’s been in the top 6 in the last 5, shot totals suggest he’s involved and getting looks.

They tend to just balance 3 lines evenly, sometimes 4, and just roll them over. I find that in the AHL you’ll have 1 line getting hot and carrying the offense then they go cold and it’s another line or another group of 2-3 players. The powerplay units tend to be spread out more too. Sometimes using a 3rd unit.

Frankly he and a few others should be producing more. Poulin’s gone a bit cold, too. Gruden should be a .5 PPG player in the AHL. Pono no points since 2 games back.
