I must say, I'm rather impressed with how this FO is handling a lot of our prospects. For the most part, they "all" seem to be improving throughout the year and year after year. Not all will make the NHL but I feel their approach has been vastly different from our previous FOs. Previous FOs seemed to rush prospects to the big show rather than what this FO does, which seems to be giving them stepping stones vs making them jump into the deep end.

EDIT: Not to mention they seem to be in constant contact with the prospects.

If they keep Liam in Sweden for another year, then I agree with you. DIF lost their first home game yesterday and is trailing the series 1-2. If they wont get promoted I think his best move going forward is to be loaned to another SHL club.

Do they do that in Sweden?

Can the Wild choose which club they loan him to to?

I believe the SHL teams chose wich players to sign. But yeah, if they agree to have him the whole season without risking Wild demands he comes over whenever they say so.
But it all comes down to negotiations.
DIF is down 1-3, next game on the road tomorrow

Most of the teams pretty much have their rosters set, but I could see him fit in here. They play a fast paced, well coached style.

Anyone think Bankier will be in the AHL next season?
I would hope so. Wild need big Centers with a scoring touch like they need to breathe. IOwa was icing some pretty nondescript C's last year in once you got past Rossi, with Fogarty being the best of them.

I don´t know much about Fogarty. 30 years old, good size. He has pretty decent numbers in the AHL. What is missing for him to make it to the NHL?

Lack of speed, and doesn't make the best use of his size. He's a vg AHL'er, and a good guy to have around to show young guys the ropes. Sort of the forward version of Mermis. Can play in the NHL in a pinch, for sure.

It seemed like Guerin wanted Yurov to stay in Russia to develop. The fact that he only signed a 1-year deal makes me feel like Guerin has a better read on this situation and believes they'll be able to get him over here next season. Likely hoping that Yurov's game develops better in Russia and then they can bring him over with Khusnutdinov at the same time.

Maybe doesn’t directly belong in here, but I think it will be interesting to see how the prospect tourney goes this upcoming year with Chicago getting Bedard, wonder if there will be some changes to media coverage and the like as there will probably be a bigger national spotlight on our games with them this year.

Will be especially interesting to see how Wallstedt does against Bedard, will be the start of a likely long standing competition between them.

Walker was injured in the game against Finland at the WC, out for the rest of the tournament unfortunately. Couldn't find very many details except it was on a penalized play that was allegedly dirty.

That's the last thing he needed. I hope it's not serious- this guy needed to have a good summer to make the team next year. Crazy to think that playing in that Tournament could jeopardize his career.

Austria struggling to get the puck out of their defensive end, Sweden out to a lead early and this looks like its not going to be very competitive.

Against Rossi, no less. AUT looked decent early on, but are caving now. Wallstedt had some saves to make early, and did. It's now 5-0 in the 3rd, Reinbacher is unjured, or at least hobbled, and Rossi, sadly, while being one of AUT's best players, still hasn't done enough to make a difference. On the 5th goal he bobbled a pass in the neutral zone that went the other way and into his own net in a hurry. At some point, you have to stop criticizing the quality of his teammates and wonder if there is anything there, there. It's not like SWE has top quality players, either. Some good young players like Raymond, but also AHL'ers like Nylander(the wrong one), SHL'ers, and some who haven't been drafted yet (Carlsson). Carlsson looks better than Rossi.
