I'd only deal Matthews for one of these assets right now (this is under the assumption he wants to and will sign an extension with us)

Nate Mackinnon (older than Matthews and has a higher cap hit, but a better playoff performer and a consistent top 5 pt producer since 2018 pace-wise)

Cal Makar (Best D in the league over the past 3 years, super young, has all-time great potential, and makes 9.5M I think)

Leon Draisaitl (you get the better offensive player but worse defensively. Save 2.5M which is nice)

Nikita Kucherov (*this is basically building from the wings which would work as Kucherov is the best winger in the league and Marner is top 5, then you still have another top 20 one in Nylander)

Connor Mcdavid (challenging to be the GOAT, lol)

2023 1OA (AKA Connor Bedard - Guy is looking like he could challenge the guy who is challenging the GOAT)

So the package you got of Chychurn + pick 2OA-5OA + (let's say Geekie level prospect) is not enough for me for a Matthew who wants to be here.

Now If he doesn't want to sign an extension and won't be willing to do so then you trade him for multiple 1sts (says 2024 +2025 1sts lightly protected) + 1 blue chip prospect + 1 young NHL player (under 24)

The package I mentioned above would meet that level of value imo
