Yeah because Los Angeles is a tiny town and Denver is basically in the eastern time zone, right?
And Colorado is such a stacked team!
Hockey in LA is secondary sport, so its not really relevant he's playing in second biggest city as much. I really don't want to use his country of origin as argument but i bet being from Canada helps aswell. The biggest reason i think that is going against him is his style of play. It doesn't mean its better or worse than the style others are playing, but he isnt about highlight reel goals, he's more about possesion and making the right play. I think results speak for itself that his style doesn't lack in anything other than regular season awards.
You must remember that Kings have 1 playoff win since 2014 stanley cup, missed playoffs 2 times so its not the same team they were. They lack depth just as much as Colorado and NJ, they've traded 2 or 3 first picks in the last 4 seasons so no young players either, since their 2 cups they've lost players like Richards (second scorer on Kings behind Kopi), Voynov (scumbag), Mitchell, Greene, Gaborik and few others ive probably missed. After Kopitar and Doughty there is a huge drop off in quality this season, remember Carter was injured and Quick was less than stellar through some stretches.
