Jack Roslovic. Book it.

That would be huge anyone know his defensive strengths , board play /stick work/coverage/face-off ability/ . Is he physical ? Curious if anyone has any input that has seen him live last year or in prior leagues

Shoulda got one game in
My sleeper pick: Christian Djoos. He impressed me playing with Kempny and-or Orpik during the playoffs playing on the third pairing. I can see him getting some PP time this year and pushing 30 points. He scored 14 last year with virtually no PP time. Dude put up 58 points in 66 games in Hershey his last year there.

Not sure if breakout because he’s a rookie still, but Ryan Donato.

Has a wicked release and seems like a good candidate to get time on the wing with Krejci and Debrusk. Maybe even on the 1st line if they shuffle Pastrnak around.

Also a little more mature being a college pro. Hard to judge those guys sometimes though

Djoos is a pretty good offensive D, but he still won't get much PP time. He's probably behind Carlson, Orlov and Niskanen on the depth chart, and the Caps only use one D on the PP.

I'd be happy to be wrong tho.

I too feel Roslo will break out.

Defensively responsible, quick into the corners and pretty tenacious player who fights for pucks, good stick, controls gaps on the defensive side, mediocre at best at faceoffs but he's improving. All that aside his game is about speed, he can really fly and he doesn't lose speed when he gets the puck. He also doesn't hold onto the puck much, he likes to move the puck and dart into an open space for the give and go.

A special player who could end up stealing a spot as #2 C between Laine and Ehlers, but realistically he'll be on the 4th line to start this season on RW or C.

Something like 15G + 25A is a safe bet.

Breakout star prediction: Nolan Patrick. He was reallt solid to finish last season.

Oh I know. But maybe that will change with whomever the new coach is. Niskanen and Djoos could be a pretty solid pairing in my opinion. And Orlov is a stud. I wish McCabe would be the Sabres version of him.

Reports are his speed looks explosive. He came into camp in great shape. Just hope his knee stays healthy so we can see what he has.

Ty Rattie - He'll be glued beside McDavid and Nugent-Hopkins. He has always been a great offensive player in junior/AHL but never translated it into the NHL until late last year. I think he'll be a late bloomer like Matt Moulson and David Desharnais.

I'll go ahead and predict he puts up 25 goals, 50 pts. Give or take 5 pts.

Somebody in Buffalo. They look poised to surprise some people, and they'll need players to step up.

Galchenyuk will have a breakout year

In Montreal it depends how coaching staff uses them, but I think Armia and Sherbak have a chance to shine on the top 6

I think Christian Dvorak steps up and becomes a 20+ goal 50+ pts second line player this season. It's going to happen sooner or later for him.

Elias Viktor Zebulon Lindholm

He's starting with Gaudreau and Monahan and I think he will stay there. He can keep up with Gaudreau & Monahan both in terms of hockey IQ and in actual skill. With Gaudreau and Monahan each having the ability to be 30+ goal scorers, I think Lindholm has a 60+ point season, with his assist total either matching or exceeding his current career high in points.
