Want it to be Drouin but .........
You mean the guy that can actually pass on the power play?

It's really between Pezz and Dadonov. With Pezz scratched yesterday, it seems to be the next one on the waivers.

But who cares really. Only on the defense it's tricky, with the return of Matheson.

Do you wave Kovy or Wideman. Wideman seems to be the choice, but we'll see.
We aren’t waiving any defensemen I promise you that

Yeah he made a good play on the goal but also turned the puck over numberous times, as per usual.

I don't want Drouin at the top of the umbrella on the pp short or long term. So that won't keep him in the lineup for me. But if MSL wants to try it, it's not the end of the world.

The context here is short term because we are talking about next game.

Drouin is always a bad game away from being out of the lineup, so that can change anytime.

If we are talking longer term, I'm pretty sure matheson will be occupying that spot on primary unit.

Yes, and he'll also be comong back soon. So not only will a forward be taken out of the lineup, but one will also be placed on waivers.

Rent Lavois thinks it will be Dadonov.

Kovy and Wideman stay. It will be Pez or Dadonov waived, unless there's a trade.

Drouin was not awful either...

I guess they'll fight for ice time the entire year...
which is the way it should be. Can't stand players who have beefy contracts just assume they deserve to be in the lineup. Reality is, if they are sucking they should be sat. Dado DruDru and Hoffman give us absolutely nothing of value seeing as all of them will be gone at year end, and none are fetching us more than a 2nd at the TDL.

After them, Gally and Evans are due for a send down to AHL. If anyone wants to pick up their contract by all means. not sure about gallys contract (might not be able to be sent down) and if so, he can watch from the press box.

i see no reason to scratch a D. When Matheson returns, we should consider putting Arber as a 3rd line winger.

Nowhere land
He's been getting a free pass all year. He's done nothing offensively. However, if I had to guess it will be Drouin.
Drouin have 2 passes in the last 2 games, or one pass. He is playing a little bit better. He made a perfect pass to CC last game but CC didn't score on that one timer. I think Drouin is improving his confidence.

I know Dadonov is improving too. He looks more energetic but he's not doing enough. I think he is done with the nhl. We can say the same about Drouin.

But why spending that much time with players who will be out of the team next april? Do members here feel great bashing, hating x or x player? I hate some people for good reasons, like those who start a war, who committ crimes, etc. A bad hockey player is like a bad bass guitarist in a rock group. It's not enough for spending that time hating him. Just my two cents.

He's a center, he's probably safe, but I agree that he's not really playing great.
Armia is not shining either.

4t line. But I would let Wideman and Kovacevic in the stands instead.

Pez would be so valuable in Laval but he legitimately may get claimed.

I mean... you cannot crack the Habs bottom 2 lines which include Armia, Evans, Dadonov, Drouin, etc... I am not sure GMs will be tripping over themselves to get their hands on Pezz.

According to TSN Drouin and Armia are not practicing today... citing "treatments". I smell another IR placement ahead of Matheson's return. ;)

At this point I'd just waive Pezzetta. He either gets a chance somewhere else, or he finally gets to play some games in Laval.
Pezz is the ideal #13 forward even if Laval would me happy with his physical presence.. Dadonov is the one that has to go. No real usage on this team at 4,5 M $. Keep 8 d-men (they are a precious goods to keep) . Kovacevic and Wideman could be put in stands no problem.

But which team needs a guy like Dadonov at that price ? habs could have to swallow a % of the pay check.

I agree that Dadonov, or even Drouin, should be the ones to go.. however it seems like Hughes is content on keeping them and trying to trade them.

I'd just like Pezzetta to get an opportunity to play, plus I don't think he would get claimed.

I heard from a very reputable source that Armia and Drouin have both scratched their back ... i'll show myself out.

Why would a team claim any of Pezzetta, Dadonov, Drouin, or Hoffman? Pezzetta isn’t an NHL player and has no discernible upside. The other three we should be happy if they get claimed given their contracts.

Pezzetta is the most obvious one. Laval can use him and there won’t be drama about having a former top-6 NHL forward in the AHL.

As fun as Pezz was to watch last year, this year he's been irrelevant in his 2 games. Pretty sure he would clear waivers.
Dadonov isn't better, but my guess is that management are still hopeful that he magically starts getting on the board and they can get something/anything in exchange ?
Evans, I don't think is in danger, but he's been very disappointing so far. Not only for his lack of offense, but also on the PK. The reason our PK is doing ok is all about Savard and the goalies, and not so much about Evans,Dadonov and recently Armia.

It won't happen but time is running out for Eddy here.

The kids are doing too well to be sent down and the team isn't going to sit Xhekaj just because Eddy is a vet.
