You say this and I'm curious if you knew that Ingham is currently up to exactly this in Greenville. It appears Ingham is the backup to 26 year old Ryan Bednard who played the first game.

Ingham I can understand working back from a back surgery, but yes, def keenly aware haha

especially after he's spent essentially his whole career there so far

Reign did a great job on shot suppression last night, putting up a wall in front of Portillo in his first pro start. Especially impressive since it was back to back on the road with a bus trip to Bakersfield after playing in San Diego the night before. Portillo didn't have much chance on either goal against. I watched the game (sometimes simultaneously with the Kings game), he was quiet in net, used his size with not a lot of extra movement, very calm for a first year pro. Maybe a bit too relaxed on some of his puck retrieval behind the net. So far, so good.

How was Clarke ?

He looks real good IMO, he's been responsible defensively, his skating seems good enough, he's as deceptive as ever with the puck, seemed to make smart reads all night. Really good at getting the puck thru to the net, maybe not so much to score on the shot, more about creating deflections, rebounds and havoc down low. He looks as advertised to me. First few games he was running his mouth a lot, you could tell from the Gulls reactions and taking runs at him. Didn't notice it as much last night, although to be fair I was often watching two games at the same time (Kings and Reign). I know he's a cocky kid, but he needs to watch himself if he can't back up his mouth with his play and to be able to defend himself. Someone is really going to clock him and long term it may not be good. But that seems to be who he is, and I like the skillset.

Forgot to mention Hodgson was apparently injured in last nights game and didn't play the last half of the game (mentioned I believed by Jared during the play by play). I didn't see what happened.
