Bob Murray, and bring in Tulsky to eventually take over as GM, so that Murray can replace Shanahan when that contract is done.

Might sound like Dubas redux, but Carolina has built a solid lineup, and I'd bring in Q as the Head Coach just to ruffle the softies feathers.

McDavid 7yrs x 13m
Matthews 8 yrs x 12.7m
Marner 8yrs x 9m
Nylander 8yrs x 8m

Have to trade them if they don't want to take deals. We need to win not have players hold the cap hostage anymore.

I know Friedman mentioned Doug Armstrong but that makes 0 sense. He’s under contract until 2025-26, how do we get around that?

What about promoting the assistant GM Hayley Wickenheiser - - anyone mention her name yet?

Another brilliant move by Dubas.

For the guys ridiculing Bowman. There is more knowledge there than anyone suggested. He moulded that team, those Chicago teams were awesome. Bowman and Quenville would be a coup for the Leafs and how they were ushered out of Chicago, they would have a chip on their shoulders to get this done. Joel played here and was already in the system before going to Chicago. It makes so much sense.

What happened in back doors there was unfortunate, it could happen anywhere and right under people noses. Time to move on from that and bring a cup or a few to Toronto.

Both have my vote.

That means the GM has a bad team.
Or teams that choose to rebuild on the fly: Dallas, Carolina, Winnipeg, etc. usually keep their firsts.
Usually markets that cant afford to bottom out for years while expecting fans to continually fill the building.

What about Mike Gillis? I didn’t think he was very good in Vancouver but from what I read seems to get high marks. Shrug.
Well he did built a President Trophy winning team and a team who actually won rounds in the playoffs and were mins away from winning the Cup.

He did brought in a lot of stuff to the Nucks that nobody thought of back then like a sleep therapist and stuff. The major knock on him from the Nucks media is that he makes sure everyone know he is the smartest guy in the room and that didn't rub people the right way, which is why he is not a GM in the league.

GM : Hayley Wickenheiser
AGM : Mark Fraser

Something Toronto would do.
why not get Tim Peel as the special relations or special consultant, while his job is talk to the refs before and after the game.

Imagine watching the Florida series and then wanting to hire the losing GM in the Tkachuk trade.
"He made the best of a bad situation!"

I can respect getting anything for Tkachuk since he was going to Florida no matter what. Zito & Tkachuk talked during his RFA period.
WHat I can't respect is signing Huberdeau & Weegar to long term deals just to avoid the constant barrage of pending UFA questions. He could have easily flipped both Huberdeau & Weegar to other teams, days after making the deal.

Shanny didn't really give off the vibe that would happen though. He actually seemed somewhat protective of the rest of the front office from the things he said/his tone.
Give it a year and watch how many leave on their own (Spezza).

Treliving’s name is all over the place, probably his agent filling every media member’s ears with info. At this point I really don’t care who it is, I have a feeling Brad will be the GM by next week. McPhee would be dumb leaving his cushy Presidents job for a GM job here. MLSE would have to probably pay him 8-10 million a year to even think about it

Tulsky or Pridham..

Honestly as long as it's not any of the following: Jim Benning, Marc Bergevin, Stan Bowman, John Chayka, Peter Chiarelli, Ron Hextall, Mike Milbury or Doug Wilson.
Yes, why would you want an actual GM who’s been to the finals or won a cup
