I get what you are saying and my first reaction was a huge steal for edmonton but I think this could very well turn out to one of those win win trades for both teams.

People are jumping up and down because of Savoie’s 9OA pedigree. It’s no guarantee how he turns out in the league.

Sabres can’t perpetually rebuild and accumulate prospects they need to start winning before there is rot among their young core.

Not sure about McLeod as the specific piece to target though. Right idea, questionable execution?

Mcleod was always worth a late 1st+. Savoie has undeservedly dropped from his 9th OA value a bit. So this trade was fair.
