Huge 3 way trade tonight.

Hurricanes receive Mikko Rantanen, Taylor Hall, and Nils Juntorp.

Avalanche receive Martin Necas, Jack Drury, 2025 2nd round pick, 2026 4th round pick.

Blackhawks receive 2025 3rd round pick.

That 3rd rounder is gonna turn into a future Hart trophy winner.

Canes won. Though I understand why Avs did what they did.

Hawks lost, the other will be seen...hard to tell who won until we see them play over a some time.

They gave up hall and they retained on Rantinen.

A few weeks ago some suggested hall gets a 2nd and 4th by himself.

In my view Hawks gave Hall away for nothing. I thought he was brought into help Bedard.

While Necas has one year after this one, Canes got the best player

canes are the biggest winner because they got the best player. if necas plays with mackinnon his ice time and production will go up. i wouldnt be surprised if necas and rantanen end up with similar point totals for the remainder of the year.

hawks are the only team that loses. they should have got another 3rd imo.

Avalanche save a couple million, got Necas for another two seasons, plus depth in Drury.

Hurricanes get the best player in the deal, and if they win the Cup they won this trade.

However, if they get ousted before at least the Conference Final and Rantanen doesn't re-sign, that arguably lost.

Until then, I'm going Avs.

Impossible to say at this stage, but I see the logic by what each team did and could work out well for them all. Interesting trade overall by all teams

Understand why Colorado made the trade but why did Chicago? Getting rid of Hall is good no matter what I guess? They gave up Hall, took on half of Rantanen’s salary in exchange for a 3rd round pick…which normally results in nothing

What was in it for the hawks i honeslty don't get it. Plenty of teams have players they'd love to trade to Chicago to get rid of for cap space. This is the best they could do? 5 million for a 3rd rounder?

I remember when losing Marleaus cap space costs a 1st rounder.

Voted Blackhawks because I can and am mad with power.

Hall with retention nets a late third. Hall with Rantanen’s retention (more) nets a high (Chicago’s own) third.

Cap space isn’t as valuable now and Hall was a cap dump. If it was a double retained Hall for a 3rd at the deadline no one would be as mad.

Great asset management from both teams. Canes move a player they didn’t want long term and the Avs extend their window a bit.

Hall has been a failure since he won his hart. Hall was absolutely given away for nothing in this trade because the hawks didn't want to pay him 6 mil to suck. Hall also checked out.

as for the question of the poll

Canes get the best player, but unless they win this year or re-sign him its hard to say they won.
