I wonder if there’s any games scheduled when the draft happens. There could literally be players drafted as they’re playing on the ice.

Agreed, that would be crushing if it plays out like that.

If those two are gone, It’s probably Jarvis for me. I don’t expect either Drysdale or Sanderson to be available at #10.

I don’t see Rossi as a centre in the NHL and his skating/size is concerning. I think I’d just as well go with Schneider or Guhle in that case if it’s not Jarvis.
If Rossi is available, the Jets should grab him and run. I think he'll be a good C. He's driven to succeed, and is really good.

Loved Lapierre's game. Looked solid and a step above anyone else on the ice.
Mercer is a bit meh for me compared to Lapierre. Nice hands though
I think Rossi plays as a wing in the NHL

Based upon things I've read, I'm starting to come around to selecting Lapierre if he's available at #10. I don't think he'll go before us, and if he does, then I suspect another good player will be available. Although I could see Rossi falling.

I suspect you could be right about Rossi being a winger in the NHL

How would you rate the Q this year as a competitive league? It's the most different draft in history. European players are getting game action, the Q, and the other leagues are still on lockdown. It's difficult to evaluate the talent evenly. A couple of regular season game is probably not going to move the needle much on where teams stand.

I don't rate them any different then either the WHL or OHL nowadays. But in regards to someone playing say in Europe I would never rate someone "better" because they are playing in a man's league. Unless it was at such a high level but I mean that just doesn't happen very much. Good players play no matter where they are. Plus I wouldn't judge a player after 3 or 4 games anyways

Follows Mc Kenzie's thoughts. Still expect the Rangers to trade #1. I can see them wanting Eichel more.

Bob McKenzie's Final Ranking: Lafreniere the surest thing in most uncertain draft year - TSN.ca

Has us drafting Quinn. Ottawa probably has to decide on Perfetti vs. Rossi with #5. I'd say there is a chance Jersey takes Askarov with #7, they look to be in full rebuild mode. Franchise goalie goes a long way.

From the scouts here good chance Lapierre jumps Mercer. Jarvis is probably a riser too.

The Q always seemed harder to rate because it was more wide open hockey, where as the WHL was a tighter checking league. I don't know if that has changed.

I think years ago it was like that. I think that everyone plays the same style across the board in Canada and the US. You may see say the OHL play a more offensive style but for the most part I find the players to be exactly the same

Was listening to Craig buttons podcast and his comparable for Dylan Holloway is Pierre luc Dubois and Sean couturier. Anyone here familiar with his play? And is that assessment accurate?

Two very different players. Button has some really weird opinions. That's one of them.

Button's mock has the Jets taking Jarvis.

I'm coming around to Jarvis as a pick. I think the choice is Sanderson on the rare chance he's available there. If not, Jarvis, Quinn, or Holtz. I think Lundell is a meh pick - he'll probably be a 3C type and I would prefer a little more offence from the pick if we go with a forward.

There's also a good chance the Jets go off the traditional path and go with someone like Guhle or Schneider.

Less detail then my first two mocks but I think we know the players by now:

1 - Rangers take Laf. No brainer here.
2 - Kings take Stutzle. This pick could go either way but I think Stutzle possesses a special skill set.
3 - Sens take Byfield. Sens get their big centre and are running to the podium here.
4 - Wings take Perfetti. Elite hockey sense. Love this player, hope he falls but unlikely.
5 - Sens take Sanderson. He will be the best Dman in the draft. Sens get the best centre and D, not a bad haul. Another guy I hope falls to the Jets.
6 - Ducks take Raymond. They may lean to Drysdale as well but tough to pass up on Raymond here.
7 - Devils take Drysdale. Rafalski 2.0 for the Devils.
8 - Sabres take Lundell. They need centres.
9 - Wild take Holtz. Let them have the shooting winger.
10 - Jets take Rossi. One of the fallers I wanted! HF Jets is thrilled. High IQ, hard worker and brings the energy all the time. He screams TNSE.
Next best: Quinn. Would be very happy if the Jets took him, been a fan for a while.
Jarvis. Biggest riser, kid can play and this would be a good pick as well.

solid effort and prediction!!

do you think Rossi stays at centre given there are really no centres his height to speak of in the NHL?

Rossi has long been one of my hoped for fallers as well. I'd be doing cartwheels (if I could) if we were able to draft him at #10.

I think he can. His plays bigger than his size. He's built like a truck and goes to the dirty areas to get the puck and plays with a high motor. There is a chance he ends up on the wing but I take BPA and he's a guy I covet. I don't think we have enough physical players in our top six. I don't see his as small as he plays big compared to others his size. He will be a gem either way.

You bet. I know it's a bit of a stretch that he falls to us but all we need is Holtz or Askarov or both to get selected ahead of us, which could happen. I want Rossi, Perfetti or Sanderson to fall to us. If all three are taken then Im leaning towards Quinn. I have also warmed up to Jarvis after the glowing reviews on HF Jets made me watch more video of him. He is another guy that would be a lock in top 10 if he was bigger, but Id like to think most scouts have realized its not 1994 anymore.
