If Demidov slips past us because he's Russian I dont even know what to say
He's a beat reporter not an insider. He can know things and not say them because that'll hamper his access. He never had any sources on their draft targets before though. It was a different staff and maybe he's gained some. But not like he called Dach or Boqvist ever. I thought it was the day of the draft some other writers were saying they heard Dach was a target.
The draft day trades made it probably harder so I wouldn't of expected it, but I didn't see any Korch/Nazar calls.
It won't be because he's Russian, literally. It will be because they'll be more comfortable with Levshunov because they've seen him in person more and the NCAA is a better league. If Demidov slips past us because he's Russian I dont even know what to say
Why would it be "because he's russian?" Why would you think that's why. Not his skating, lack of full inside the slot game, injury, etc.If Demidov slips past us because he's Russian I dont even know what to say
It has nothing to do with being Russian. Levshunov is from Belarus it's basically the same thing. If Demidov slips past us because he's Russian I dont even know what to say
to play devil's advocate, there is a very real chance that the international situation gets much worse in the next year. to stop playing devil's advocate, if it comes to that we probably won't be worrying about hockey too much come time for next off-season.Why would it be "because he's russian?" Why would you think that's why
Are you saying that we shouldn't take Demidov because my house is going to be blown up by Russians and I won't care that we took Levshunov because I'll be worrying about my own rebuild?to play devil's advocate, there is a very real chance that the international situation gets much worse in the next year. to stop playing devil's advocate, if it comes to that we probably won't be worrying about hockey too much come time for next off-season.
like i said, i was playing devil's advocate. i prefer demidov, and i generally think the "russian factor" has been overblown to this point. Are you saying that we shouldn't take Demidov because my house is going to be blown up by Russians and I won't care that we took Levshunov because I'll be rebuilding?
you crazy dawglike i said, i was playing devil's advocate. i prefer demidov, and i generally think the "russian factor" has been overblown to this point.
sometimes you gotta think outside the box. or maybe not. hasn't gotten me very far yet, but there's always tomorrow.you crazy dawg
Ukraine is landing body blows with thirty year old US tech. If this proxy war goes full scale war Russia is toast. If it goes nuclear agreed the earth is at 110 degrees and nobody is skating on ice.to play devil's advocate, there is a very real chance that the international situation gets much worse in the next year. to stop playing devil's advocate, if it comes to that we probably won't be worrying about hockey too much come time for next off-season.
if your first condition is satisfied, then the second is almost a guarantee in my estimation. as i like to say, time will tell. still would rather they draft demidov. my only point is i can see how an american corporate entity would price in that extra risk, doesn't mean i think it's reasonable or a good decision. If this proxy war goes full scale war Russia is toast. Biggest concern about this rebuild you can’t fast track this shityeah and there should be serious question marks that the timeline on the rebuild has seemingly gone from there is no timeline to 'we need to speed this up' in one season
Agreed. I'm not expecting this war to escalate.
