I'm kinda shocked that he didn't blow ligaments in his knee. That's gross looking.

If I were KD, I'd be scared off unless US doctors saw him and assessed him in the US. I'm skeptical that happens."allegedly"
I have no idea who to draft. Without that injury, I go with Demidov, despite the other concerns, because all of the guys after Celebrini have legitimate concerns. With that injury? There's no way you can draft him at #2 without getting the knee fully evaluated. If I were KD, I'd be scared off unless US doctors saw him and assessed him in the US. I'm skeptical that happens.
It's frustrating. Why couldn't the Hawks just win the lotto for 1st? Then there'd be no debate as to who they should take. Now it's so up in the air. I can't wait until it happens, and there's 8000 arguments about which of 10 players KD should have taken. /s
Yep. And, unfortunately, the only way to know that, is getting him checked out by specialists here.I guess it depends on how much we care if Demidov even needs surgery for that knee and how well it typically heals.
I mean, I don't give a shit if he gets surgery in Vegas on the stage at the Sphere right after we draft him. As long as it is the type of injury/surgery where the results are fairly certain. We have a year to wait for this kid, regardless.
You kinky boy. My neck, my back, my....I'm personally not scared off by knee injuries. I'm more scared about hips, backs, and necks.
I would typically agree with you. But two knee injuries to the same knee in 6 months, and with how brutal this one looked? Nah.I'm personally not scared off by knee injuries. I'm more scared about hips, backs, and necks.

No.Here’s where I’m at on this….and I’ll admit I know nothing about anything when it comes to these particular prospects/this draft class….but just from what I’m reading it really does seem like this Demidov guy, despite being probably the most talented available option at #2 in a vacuum just looking at raw talent alone, simply has one too many question marks/possible red flags for me to feel comfortable about selecting with such a high/valuable pick. Seems like too many things could go wrong when it comes to the injuries, the waiting for him to eventually join the team/organization, and the whole Russian thing….I just don’t know. Would it not be safer to go with someone else??? Help me out here, is he TRULY worth it??? He’s that good that we can’t miss out/he’s that much better than the next available option???
I thought this time it was the ankle, no?I would typically agree with you. But two knee injuries to the same knee in 6 months, and with how brutal this one looked? Nah.
Based on that video, looks like it could be both.I thought this time it was the ankle, no?
Either that, or he's going to be coerced into signing another contract. Will Demidov be forced to waste another full year of development in the MHL next year?
Something to think about
Re-watched the cup scene from the MHL finals and he had that special boot on his left foot there. However he was standing there on the ice and I doubt that he would be able to do that if that was the knee.Based on that video, looks like it could be both.
He had crutches as well. When you injure the knee, standing around isn't really a problem. He had crutches, but he was holding those, not walking on them. Do you have some link for what his agent was saying? I don't think I've read that, probably missed it.He had crutches as well. When you injure the knee, standing around isn't really a problem. It's pushing off.
Every report I've read has mentioned a knee injury, including his agent's. Anything saying otherwise?
