Minny definitely thinks hard on Kaprisov.

I agree for sure. Just a part of me wonders while the odds of Bedard missing (“missing” being at least not a PPG) are super slim. I’m curious as to if Minny fans are willing to wager their first 100 point superstar player to it.

Daigle was drafted before I was born so I don’t know. Also there was no Twitter and a smaller fan base so it’s hard to compare but how does Daigles hype compare to Bedards?

Bedard is more hyped. As were Crosby & McDavid.

No he wasn't.

Lindros was called "The Next One" and was supposed to be a bigger, stronger, more skilled Greztky.

He was a good player, but definitely didn't live up to the hype. When the hype is the best of all-time, being a star is not enough.

It's like if Bedard plays 1000 games and puts up 1000 points, he'll be a star player for sure. That doesn't mean he lived up to the hype he has now though.. which seems to be on the McDavid/Crosby level.

Lol he's right though? The Blackhawks are going to be awful next year even with Bedard. What would be the point of getting a much more expensive McDavid halfway through his career when you have nobody for him to play with?

Nothing personal against the kid but I've never hoped for a player to be an absolute bust like I am with him.

It's just a good risk to take.

He has his entire career ahead of him, probably between one and two decades worth of hockey. That includes 3 ELC seasons, his prime and his peak.

Of course he isn't proven at the NHL level, but his raw skills plus his non-NHL production suggests he's going to translate well.

Everything else would be up for grabs, even Draisaitl as Bedard entry level contract would be insanely valuable to properly improve the D core cap wise.

Realistically he’s not available for anything short of McDavid so it’s not happening.

Yeah this is where I'm at. I'd throw Sanderson in there too as I value him just as highly.

I truly don't think there's an asset in the league more valuable than Bedard right now, even McDavid...

Stützle, Tkachuk and Sanderson all have the potential be Top 10 players at their respective positions IMO, but Bedard has the potential to be the best player in the world.

I'll take the latter.

nhl is a league where single players not automatically get you titles. as good as e.g. mcdavid is, imo trading stützle, tkachuk and sanderson for him would set ottawa back.

there is no guarantee bedard will get on the level of mcdavid - ever.

I think I remember something about his dad pressured him to play and train at a sport he didn't actually like so once he got his freedom. Slacker time
