Hi, I've been on HFBoards on and off the past couple of years but I never formally introduced myself here.
Name: Ted
Age: 23
Location: currently, Seoul, South Korea
Current Occupation: English teacher/med or grad school applicant/general layabout
Sabres Fan since: 1998. Was captivated by how a team so god awful could go so far because of one amazing player.
Season Ticket Holder: No. Closest I've ever to Buffalo is NYC.
All Time Favorite Sabres: Hasek, Barnes, Dumont, Afinogenov, Briere, Ennis, Gerbe. Yep, I like them waterbugs, I find them exciting to watch.
Favorite Sabres moment: Too many, but that 8-2 blowout game 2 against the Flyers with twin hattricks by Dumont and Pominville will always hold a special place in my heart. We've blown out teams in the playoffs worse before (such as when we eliminated those very same Flyers back in '01) but that game showcased all that was great about the best Sabres team ever assembled.
Sabres Jersey you own: None yet, never been much of a memorabilia type guy.
Team You Hate Most: I don't really hate teams. I naturally root for underdogs so... big market teams, kind of?
Favorite Musical Artists: Rise Against, Dropkick Murphy's, Senses Fail, Opeth, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Offspring, Bad Religion, the New Pornographers. Jay-Z's my favorite artist outside of rock.
Favorite Movies: T2, Fight Club, Groundhog Day, Office Space, Aliens, The Social Network, Ocean's Eleven, the second Lord of the Rings, Harold and Kumar (the 1st one). Among old-timers, I like some musicals, like Sound of Music or Singing in the Rain, or war movies, like Tora! Tora! Tora! or From Here to Eternity. Also, Kiki's Delivery Service, though it's technically a movie for little girls. I Love You Man and A Knight's Tale among tasteless modern b-movies.
Favorite TV shows: The Simpsons, Seinfeld, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Futurama, Community
Favorite Books: Never much of a novel-reader, but during that brief window in my life I actually read novels, "Palladio" by Jonathan Dee and "The Sweeter Life" by Tim Wynveen. Mostly I read pop non-fiction from writers like Malcolm Gladwell and Matt Ridley.
Bad Habits: Making my lists of favorites too long and not shutting up
