Who is the softest team in the playoffs? Which team brings to most grit?

Years past I might have said Islanders are the gritiest but not sure if they are now. I think it is either the Stars or the Bruins.

For softest, I think it might be the LA kings or Jets.

Curious how others see the playoff teams on the pugnacity scale

Just for hits in particular the highest on the list this year among playoff teams was the Islanders, I think. The majority of the highest hitting teams aren't in the playoffs.

Hits per game the Islanders were 5th, Tampa was 7th. Rangers, Knights, Bruins, and Oilers are all fairly close to each other but around the middle of the league. Oilers post-deadline would have ranked considerably higher over 82 games.

Hurricanes and Devils near the bottom of the league (30th and 29th respectively). Stars, Avalanche, and Kings down there as well.

Dallas may not have a ton of hits, but I certainly wouldn't describe that team as soft. There's a lot of size, it's just used more for strong puck protection than than hitting.

Remember, most of the time players are only recording hits when they don't have the puck.

I'm saying they are one of the gritiest not softest.

Not this year we have Schenn and If need be they can call up Clifford or Simmonds.

I really don’t have enough watch time with the Leafs this year to make a claim on this one way or another.

But what I do know is referring to a single roster player and then two non roster players as reasons for not being soft says very little.

Whoever says leafs has no clue about hockey. The leafs are very gritty unlike previous seasons. The newest additions have been huge in that sense. Schenn, McCabe, Accari Lafferty for Sandin, Engvall, Mikhayev is a major difference. Add in O’Reilly. Leafs are very gritty. Can always add Simmonds to kick some ass as well if it get crazy.

Canes or Devils are likely the softest.

Matthews led the series in hits last year and is leading the league in blocked shots for forwards this year. The Leafs added Accari, McCabe, Schenn, and Knies who all play a hard game. They also have Gio, ZAR, Simmonds if he draws in, Lafferty, etc in the bottom 6. Not to mention Bunting has no trouble being a pest and getting into things.

Didn't mention ROR either who isn't soft. So that poster IDK what they are talking about but the Leafs are not soft this year. There is a reason they had such a successful season defensively.
