Who is the best defender in this year's draft NOT named Jiricek or Nemec?

He game is very similar to Faber from Kings
I see some of the similarities you are referring to with the puck-rushing ability. Both are very good skaters that can transition the puck well.

I think Chesley is a better overall hockey player though, which isn't to say Faber won't be very good, but probably not best overall defenseman in a draft caliber. Then again, Chesley also may not, but my prediction would be that he is.

Is there a site that has some kind of stats tracking a draft eligible in terms of their proficiency at defending zone entries and facilitating zone exits?

Not that I'm aware of.

There are soooo many leagues that it's really hard to gather all this information from each league. Adjusted NHLE is still, unfortunately, the best source of comparing players, outside of actual scouting (by a good scout).

Your best bet is join an analytics site for prospects. Jfresh, hockeyprospecting etc.

Thank you, I'll definitely look into that.

1. Jiricek
2. Mintyukov
3. Mateychuk
4. Nemec
5. Bichsel
6. Pickering
7. Chesley
8. Korchinski
9. Casey

- I love this draft for D-men.
- I have Bichsel closer to Nemec than most (closer than everyone?) and today I'm thinking that I should move him ahead.
- I can't evaluate Hutson because so much depends on his claims about getting bigger, which I can't assess. I'm not worried about missing the next Sam Girard, that doesn't bother me at all.

Can't see Bichsel going ahead of either Jiricek or Nemec but I have him going at 10 to Anaheim.

I've seen glimpses of "player cards" for Mintyukov, Korchinski, etc... that had some info like that from Mitch Brown's tracking. It seems he had a decent 10 or so game sample. I think you might need to be an EP subscriber to get it (I'm not).

There's also Scouch's tracking which has that information but I think is low sample and not as trustworthy.

I've seen other trackers post their stuff but I'm not remembering any one stop shop that does it all. That would be great.

NHLe models seem just about useless for comparing defensemen. I'm surprised that anyone is taking Byron Bader's toy model seriously.

Yes, believe me if I was doing a mock it would look very different.
