I do not acknowledge their cups. None of them. No asterisks - that involves acknowledgment.
One can easily EXTRAPOLATE you feel the same about Tampa.

You wanted to be bombastic? Goal achieved.

To discount any Cup for any reason is considered trolling on these boards.

Your verbose response is beautifully worded non-sense.

I will not let you or anyone else CHEAPEN these accomplishments.

Rules are rules and we all play by the same ones. Florida or Tampa has ZERO control over these rules.

Do you agree with that point? DO you think they are purposefully circumventing the cap or playing by the rules in place? If you say they are circumventing the cap please provide actual proof of such a slanderous claim?

Your outrage(whether correct or not)is aimed at the wrong people.

There’s something kind of sad about winning a Stanley Cup and then looking to prove a point against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Like you won a Stanley Cup and you spend time thinking about the Leafs?!

speaking of cup windows, I remember I was at my uncle's house in Pittsburgh once and asked him how the penguins were doing. He said "if the 10 best hockey players in the world were playing in my front yard right now, I'd close the blinds"

“If a team sucks, people don’t want to go there.”
It’s about more than simply the tax rates. There are a lot of factors taken into consideration by the players.

It’s a lazy answer.
Of course it's about more than that. That doesn't mean it's not an advantage. It obviously is.

Other teams may have different advantages, such as the Leafs or Habs printing money in a hotbed, but to say the tax thing has no bearing on e.g. Florida's ability to build a competitive team is putting your head in the sand.

For winning the cup? Panthers. Leafs will have a better roster, but something is rotten when they can't ever go past two playoff series. Be it the locker room or Management

The ones with their head in the sand are those who write it off simply due to the tax advantage.
Of course there are other factors involved, that was my whole point.
It’s up to other teams to turn those “different advantages” you mentioned to their benefit.

Indeed. However, the league has revenue sharing in place to compensate for some teams being in better markets, plus there is a salary cap to significantly reduce the advantage.

The tax advantage has no such checks and balances which makes it a more significant advantage that is also outside teams' control. They can strive to increase revenue or make their location more desirable, but they can't adjust their state tax. Some teams effectively operate under a different salary cap than others.

Therefore it is not a "lazy argument", but rather a very valid one even if it isn't the only one.

It’s a lazy argument by those who attempt to sum it all up by simply saying, “taxes”.
And there are many who do so.

On that we agree. Full marks to the Panthers on the job they did turning a bad situation into a great one.

I just see people get awfully defensive about it even though it is an indisputable advantage.
