Who else has very little interest in the Four Nations tournament?

Couldn't care less about it. Without Russia, Chechia and maybe a couple of others, it's silly. That said, I imagine I'll watch some games with the NHL shut down during the tournament. I think the US will take this.
For people complaining for not having more than 4 nations in this tournament, it's because there's only 4 nations that can ice a full roster with 23 players. Actually 5, but Russia can't play. Czechia has only 4D playing in the NHL...

I don't understand hockey fans saying they are not really interested in this tournament. 4 nations faceoff is like pre Olympics and there's only 4 real hockey nations who can potentially win the Olympics. Czechia's, Germany, Swiss Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia have no chance of winning the Olympics next year. Adding players from inferior leagues like KHL, DEL, Liiga, SHL into the Olympics won't change the order in the big 4.

People said the same thing about the Czechs in 1998, whose roster was comprised of 1/2 "inferior league" players.

Guess what occurred? Czechs won Gold, while Canada and USA (1st and 2nd place in '96 World Cup) went home without medals.

Anything can happen in a short tournament.

I wasn't that much but with the NHL being on break I think alot fans will still tune in. Once the first puck drops the fans will get emotionally invested in it and I think it will be fun to watch.

I agree with most of the criticisms. Russia should be in along with the rest of the world.

But all that being said, it's still going to be the best collection of hockey players that have played against eachother since 2016. Of course I'm interested.

I’d rather everyone gets a week off, and each team sends a player to Vegas to compete in an NHL All-Star poker tournament or something like that with proceeds going to the winners charity

I’d rather watch that than a half-hearted hockey product tbh

I knew someone would say this but the Czechs in 2025 are not what they use to be in 1998... There is no Jagr and no Dominik Hasek who was the best goalie in the world back then.

The Czechs would probably finish 5th in the world, but they are in the 2nd tier in hockey after the big 4.

Really looking forward to it personally. Mackinnon, Makar, McDavid, and Crosby (hopefully) on the same team? Let’s go. Any time international best-on-best hockey is played it’s entertaining and meaningful.

Man, that's a a great idea! As an avid poker lover, I would watch the hell out of it. Some team would probably give Phil Kessel a week long deal for this,

I was looking forward to it, but Finland's already weak defence has been decimated by injuries and I fear they will get embarrassed badly

There are 6 Czech defenders playing in the AHL on NHL contracts who could have been easily freed up for this tournament. Even if you aren't pulling Euro guys, it was totally doable.

And yes, it's totally ridiculous to have an 'international tournament' without the Czech Republic there.
