Prospect Info: Who does LA pick #2? Part 2 To Byfield or to Stutzle? That is the question

What if LA takes Byfield so LA "makes the choice" of Stutzle for Ottawa. Did LA make the choice? Is Stutzle definitively the only option at 3? If he busts, does Ottawa's scouting staff get a pass because LA made the choice for them? It goes both ways: it isn't a case of the only option being that LA makes the wrong pick and "delivers" the right choice to Ottawa.

I can get it from a fan's POV: both LA and Ottawa fans are happy to be selecting so high and adding a top prospect; however, you want to be picking from the widest selection of players possible in the real world.

I agree with you there. But holy crap, talk about a "let's pretend the impossible is possible" scenario. And they wonder why we make fun of them.
 
I'm sure if Eugene Melnyk is willing to part with Mark Borowiecki, the Senators would be able to pry the #1 overall pick from the Rangers, and I'm sure they can flip Zaitsev and Tierney to the Kings for the #2 overall pick. Totally doable.

Teubert was tough in Junior hockey but Defensively he forgot to keep working on his weaknesses! Thank God LA got V Voynov in the 2nd round to cover that major league brain fart

Little over 5 weeks to go until the Entry(nee Amateur) draft Oct 9-10th...Byfield and then a host of scoring wingers would fill the prescription

Well, with Stutzle available I’m not 100% convinced you guys go with Byfield. Just doesn’t seem like a sure thing to me. Now the first pick, that’s a sure thing. We will find out in October though.

There is no way LA drafts Drysdale at 2,maybe 5-6 if we trade for an additional pick and even then I'd be looking at Holtz or some other promising scoring winger
