Unfortuntely the one "core four" who will pay the price is the only one who shows up in the playoffs. I've been hard on Willy in the past but in the Habs & Panthers series he was the only one who showed up. He's the last piece I would consider moving.
Yep. We'll trade Nylander (he's always pulled the short straw in this organization). We'll still be stuck with 3 x 11 mil players including one who completely dissappears when the going gets tough and another who may be slower than Jason Allison. This management will f*** up a big decision once again.

He had 1 goal, 1 primary assist at even strengh...his goal gm 5 vs florida was his only one at even strenght and it was a weak goal bobrovsky allowed... he avoiding every hit he can, we never saw defensive commitment, he was on the ice for team high 13 time for goal against.

Sorry Nylander was probably the WORST leafs player at even strenght ... but yes he was fine in pp but what do you want ? A pp specialist or a 5v5 player?
He's stuck with Tavares and Jarnkrok or Kerfoot most of the time. Tavares isn't an option to pass to. And the other guy isn't very productive.

Ideally Tavares is one of the players moved but it doesn’t look like that’s very likely at all.

They need to put the name and ego on the side and move JT onto the wing permanently. Third line preferably also. He can’t keep up in the top six anymore.

Yes he played a lot with tavares ( most) but the second guy he played with the most is Austin Matthews, not kerfoot or jarnkrok

Matthews is probably not an option too...

Since 2018 nylander had 5 goal and 3 primary assist at even strenght

Matthews 11 goal 2 primary assist
Marner 5 goal 8 primary assist
Jt 7 goal 1 primary assist ( dont forget he missed full habs series)

I will also included knies because hes probably the guy who will probably replacing nylander pretty soon, he had 1 goal and 3 primary assist

He was on the ice for team high 33 goal against
Tavares is at 30
matthews 28 ( but played 3 min and half over than nylander)
Marner at 27 played 2 min over nylander)

Honestly for what isaw during those player, Matthew Knies is already a better 2 way player than Nylander whos only a pure offensive skilled foward. Without any heart...

Honestly i dont think Nylander care about losing or winning in playoff...thats probably the reason he dont feel the pressure as much of the rest and be considerated by some li a clutche player...but How he reacted after leafs lost just go in that way, he just doesn't care about succes, he played playoff game with the same attittude, mindset, commitment he was playing during regular season...

Marner had 1 goal 0 assists.
Matthews had 0 goals, 1 primary assist
Tavares had 0 goals, 1 primary assist.

Bobrovsky let in only 10 goals, and the only one that was 'weak' was the one by the player you don't like? That was a beautiful snipe that, yes, made Bob look awkward.

In the last game (the only one I've looks at) he took four hits, the most of any 'core 4'. Matthews took none.

He and ROR had to only goals on the PP, despite him having about half the PP ice time of JT, Matty, and Mitch.

So he was the best at both ES and PP.

If you want to condemn someone as a PP specialist but not good at 5v5, look at JT (except in this series, where he was bad at both).

And Willy still led the team in points/60!

Everyone except Rielly, Nylander, Knies, Lilly and Woll is on the block.
Nylander is likely at the top of the trading block based on cap and number of years left. He would make a perfect rental player to desperate teams such as Colorado who want to continue to compete.
Move him for Bowen Byram plus a third and the deal is done. Leafs then have a good young defenseman. A 2 year bridge will likely be just north of 3MM. Leafs then have around 4mm freed up. Once it is official that Holl is kicked loose, that is 5MM in total to invest in schenn + more.
