Who are you hoping the Leafs take with their first rounder?

A wish upon a magic star...to win one bloody round of the playoffs.

I could see the leafs trading out of the first round to collect more picks like when Dubas traded a second rounder to ottawa for a later second and a third and selected horvonen and niemela with those picks

Dubas has traded away a Leafs 1st round pick away in 3 consecutive years since he has been GM as results of Muzzin, Marleau and Foligno transactions,

Once again as the draft approaches the Leafs goaltending position is in disarray and I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if Leafs pick is used in the process to address the situation.

What about acquiring a 1st (15th overall) in 2019, or does that not count for you, as you continually shit on everything Maple Leafs?

If those are who the best players available at our position, then of course.
That is great but if that is the last thing your team needs it is the responsibility of the GM to then turn that player into something of value that the team needs.

Draft a European goalie that we can properly develop into a bonafide #1

No more plugs in net
Dubas is never going to prioritize a top goalie prospect

They won't pick in this 1st round I'm predicting. I suspect it's the type of draft that turns into a complete crapshoot before reaching the middle of the 1st round. They'll trade down to accumulate draft picks.

Yeah, obviously, the draft is the first step on the journey to the NHL for most players. Though, there is not really a top goalie prospect in this year's draft, but one can surprise with good development.
