Couldn't disagree more.

Kopitar gets 10 mill per year.
This is 90+ points on a consistent base, salary.
In reality he is a 70+ point player but i will hold him accountable for 90+ points since he asked for 10 mill.
Why someone agreed to this contract is far beyond me.

There is also the dreadful hockey style of entering the o-zone already at the board and dump the puck into the corner.
Not many people store when pinned to the boards.
Vilardi is an incredible creative playmaker. If we can find him someone who can shoot the puck into the net, we are golden.
Someone like Rantanen comes to my mind, someone who can defeat a goalie even without screening the goalie

The only player the league in who runs away from his team in scoring as much as Kopitar is Connor McDavid and even he doesn't really because of Draisaitl.

There's an argument to be made, especially WRT his deployments and minutes, that he's still one of the top handful of players in the league and one of the greatest offensive forces in the world, but since he's mired down playing a powerful two-way game with 1st defenseman minutes and pK on one of the worst teams in the league, sorry, yeah, Kopitar can *only* outscore his 'help' by 30 points a season on average.

He's worth every penny.

I'd rather have McKinnon for 5 mill.
This guy just takes the puck and make stuff happen

Everyone would rather have McKinnon at $5 million, but MacKinnon's currently making $6.3, and his contract is arguably the biggest steal in sports. What a dumb counterpoint. MacKinnon and the Colorado superteam also haven't won jack shit. I'd rather have McDavid at $1 million!
