When would you blow it up?

When would you commit to a complete rebuild?

So, if they start winning under the Pegula ownership, you won't watch, correct?

Does anyone think that is going to happen? How many within this community believe things will turn around under Pegula ownership? Maybe a topic for a different thread.

Best chance for a quick turnaround is to fire Krueger and let Adams hire his own coach without the Pegulas meddling. The coach and GM have to be on the same page to have any chance. Krueger's not even on the same planet. Adams knows a lot of coaches and will get someone that fits and will work with him to build a team.

How many stars, players with ruined developments, coaches, special advisors, and GMs do we need to go through before we realize the one unchanging thing is ownership and the culture that comes from ownership?

That's an odd selection of choices, though I went with "fire Ralph first."

Of course Ralph's firing needs to be part of the plan. We also need a GM who knows what he is doing.

Before any of that will matter, Mrs. Pegula needs to withdraw from the organization completely and let professionals run it.

All of these things need to happen *first*. And yes, we need to "blow it up" ASAP. This trade deadline would be a good time to start...dish off Hall for whatever they can get and keep going.

Once it’s public Jack demands out we lose leverage. Does it make sense to be proactive? He’s clearly mentally gone already.

We could get an absolute haul for Jack, Sam and Hall.

Blowing it up would allow us to buyout Skinner and get rid of that absolutely disgusting contract with only a ~2.5m hit in the last couple years once we would be ready to compete. Okposo is gone in 2 years anyways.

Do it right this time. Let the new kids marinate extra long while signing character veterans in the twilight of their career so the stink of losing when we will finally be ready doesn’t do a repeat.

The only 3 people on my list that I can think of right now off limits would be Dahlin, Cozens and Quinn. Maybe Tage just because he’s such a wildcard and doesn’t have much value now anyways.

Give mitts the most favorable offensive deployments to pad his stats and offload him.

And take. at least. 2. goalies. every. single. draft.

Move Krueger upstairs. He is a great communicator that can still be an asset to us, just not in his current capacity.

Spend massive time and resources making Rochester a great place for development and leadership mentorship.

Would I do it? Not sure, but I think it’s all dependent on how we progress and how much lower overall organization morale can drop.

With a Dahlin extension looming and Skinners anchor, I don’t know if this core can currently be a winning formula.

And for gods sake, Terry needs to grow a pair and tell his wife that her pet project is over with.

Why do people keep calling for treating the symptoms while completely ignoring the cause? Seriously, I just don't get it. Trading Jack for magic draft picks is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, the people who steered us straight into the iceberg are still behind the wheel.

They tanked for Eichel that's it.
Don't try to make this look like they were bad on purpose or that there was a plan behind it.
Its just utter incompetence, bad management and coaching.
they are not tanking now, or last year or the year before that
When did I say that they tanked or were tanking outside of the Eichel draft?

If the titanic is going to sink anyways, why not try and drop a few life boats early instead of waiting for them to get dragged under water with the ship?

I don’t think anyone is ignoring the fact that coaching, ownership, and the front office are also culpable (maybe some folks are), but the writing is on the wall. Eichel is going to want out. That Rangers trade rumor wasn’t just smoke.

And 5 years after that happens and more endless failure we'll be demanding that the guys we got with the magic draft picks need to be traded for more magic draft picks and it will be a neverending cycle and nothing will change. Treating the symptoms and not the disease is a terrible idea.

Adams can hire another idiot and nothing changes. They should take a list of the really experienced and best coaches in the league who are free, or ask some teams for permission to speak to the assistant coaches.

Have they done a complete purge?

Since Darcy was let go, have they been recycling coaching, staff, and scouts from prior "Administrations"?

I know GMKA came in right after our last playoff run... and since then, it's been a tire fire in a revolving door of failure.

What would it take to throw a bunch of money at a Director of Hockey Ops to set the whole operation on fire and rebuild everything from the ground up?

Haven't we done that? Honestly, I don't remember because my interest in this franchise continues to wane lottery after lottery.

When I look at this roster I see a playoff team, easy. This is all on the coaches imo, which is also on the owners who need to stop meddling. If they fired Krueger today and brought in Gallant I bet they still make the playoffs, RK is a terrible coach.

I’d blow it up to send a message to the team but also hire a coach. even if they like Ralph, getting him fired puts pressure on them especially to bring in a torts or gallant type to wake them up and demand more.

The PP is the only thing clicking right now and even that could be coached better with all the skill we have.

I can't even read thus overeaction thread considering a short line up and the fact the whole team sat on it's asz for ten days.. 16 in some cases.. Reference the first bad two games of the season .. Repeated.. So blow it up due to circumstance.. Are you Fn kidding me.. Wait ten games after they learn to play at speed again .. And hope Adams is right and you all are overreacting.. Look at shooting % and then chill.

It's been ugly and it wouldn't surprise me another ar wash.. But after cap win/loss tomorrow they should be back physically and mentally for the 20th and beyond w a whole line up ready to go, to be judged by you all.. . After being Fd by the NHL

Pegulas are young enough and have kids involved. They’ve also invested a ton into the community and own the Bills. Like it or not, they’re here to stay for decades so the quicker people realize new ownership is a pipe dream the less painful it’ll be holding out hope

Thank you! My point exactly. Ownership is not good, but we are going to see new GMs, coaches, and roster before we see new ownership.

I like Krueger, but it’s playoffs or bust it up. Sabres have shown no cohesion under him, so as much as the guys like him- he’s gotta go if they don’t turn it around.

You then ask Eich what he wants to do. If he wants out, understandable- use the offseason to find the best deal possible.

Not sure what ya do with Skinner. Keep Dahlin.

Hall and Staal- depends where we are at the deadline, but if we’re in a CBJ situation we gotta sell. I guess it’s only if we miraculously catch fire that this team stays as is, otherwise I’d like to see major changes in the offseason.
