When would you blow it up?

When would you commit to a complete rebuild?

Not sure what you guys would want in a package, I.e Futures/Now players, but the Wild would give up a lot.

Packages I’ve though of for Eichel are something like Dumba + Boldy + 2 2021 1st (ours and Pitt)

Or

Dumba + Fiala/Kaprizov + 2 1sts if you are thinking more win now.

I think Krueger needs to step down / be fired and a competent proven NHL coach needs to be brought in before we trade Eichel. Get Boudreau/ Gallant in ASAP.

Intriguing base offers for Eichel

:sabres Quinton Byfield, Alex Turcotte, Kale Clague, and a 1st round pick 2021
:kings Jack Eichel

:sabres Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan, and 2nd round pick 2021
:flames Jack Eichel

:sabres Kaapo Kakko, Mike Zibanejad, Pavel Buchenvich, 1st round pick 2021
:rangers Jack Eichel
Gonna need Tkachuk/Lafreniere back in those trades.

Vegas fan coming in peace yada yada yada

You have a solid roster. You need coaching. Someone like a Trotz or Gallant who can inspire performance.
Absolutely. All we've wanted from the start was a coach who can elevate the performance of the roster, however flawed. Instead, we've had bums who make their play look both stupid and lethargic. It's unwatchable despite having talents like Eichel, Dahlin, Hall and Skinner.

Can you also throw in the cost for the moving vans to whichever city the Sabres get relocated to a few years after the trade?

I want to build from the back out. Start in the net and the blue line.

I would go for a proven 1A NHL goalie who can steal games for us and bridge the gap to the UPL era.

As far as the blue line goes, I'm not even sure who is worth keeping and including in the core outside of Dahlin.

Keep Dahlin, borgen, jokiharu. On the fence about Risto, especially since he's had such a bad case of covid. Defense might be the easiest decision on the roster, including the coaching staff.

So very much yes......the fact that goaltending has been basically an afterthought for years is pathetic. Even if our offence was clicking it wouldn't matter when you have swiss cheese in your net.

If we pick top 5, blow it up this year. We’re basically in a position to do that anyways with all the 1-2 year deals.

Dont re-sign Hall.

Trade Eichel for a mountain of top prospects from either NYR or LAK, and make sure a goalie is in there.

Then build around Cozens, Dahlin, our up and coming defensive youth, a top goalie prospect we acquire, and whatever else we get, plus a top pick.

I love Jack, but it’s not working here.

Or are we just picking a goalie at the draft? Only if Shesty from Rangers, but then it will not be the best return for us. Georgiev shouldn't cost much, but he is definitely worse.

The question is simple, but the answer is tough. When would you officially commit to a complete rebuild (if at all)? When I say this- I mean damn near everyone is on the table except for a couple of younger guys deemed worthy of holding onto (if any)- Dahlin and Cozens come to mind for me. Front office changes as well. Shoot!

it wouldn’t be a total tear down

looking ahead to 22 off season

Eichel NMC kicks in
Reinhart and Risto would be UFA eligible.

what does Buffalo have in their system?

C. Cozens, Mitts, Ruoats, Pekar
LW Skinner , Girgensons, Peterka, Asplund
RW Thompson, Quinn, Olofsson KO

LD. Dahlin, Samuelson, Johnson, Bryson
RD Joki, Borgen, Lasksonen, Fitzgerald

G UPL

in trading Eichel the key would be getting back a U25 top 2 C, a young top 4 Dman ( I think Dahlin can shift to RD if needed), and depth prospects/ picks

Reinhart you could trade fora D
Risto you could trade for a F

Hall could be resigned at a 3-4 yr contract at $7M
Reinhart could be resigned for about $6.3M.

if you resign Hall andReinhart you woukd have very good wingers snd might not need to get a top C back.

I do t see Eichel getting traded until after 21/22 season but before the NMC kicks in which could be pushed back a month if 21/22 doesn’t start till November.

Blowing it up couldn’t really be done during this season.

1) We have two contracts that are untradeable (Skinner/Okposo)
2) We have other contracts that would be very hard to move in the current economics of the league (Risto/Miller). Hall’s deal might fall into this category but he’s a pending UFA so they could eat some cap to make a move happen.

3) The guys most tradable and would return the best assets shouldn't be traded (Jack/Sam/VO).

I don’t see “blowing it up” during this season as a viable strategy.

When the offseason gets here we will have the opportunity to reshape things to a degree. With pending UFAs, RFAs and potential growth from some prospects. But unfortunately the two albatross contracts (Skinner/Okposo) aren’t going anywhere

from LA Byfield would have to come back. I woukd also ask for a top D prospect. I don’t know much of their U23 group beyond their 1st.

Absolute no on Calgary. Have no interest in either pkayer. It would be something like Tkachuk, Zary/ Pelituer and a D

Rangers...Zibs, Fox, and a lot more. Kakko doesn’t impress me.

For me, not enough.

While Dumba be a good player, assuming he would be a good fit on this team, I’d counter in the motivation to “rebuild” the team:

To Minnesota
Eichel + Mittelstadt +Montour

To Buffalo:

2 1st Rounders (2021 and 2022 or 2 in 2021) + Rossi + Boldy + Foligno

The thought with Dumba is that not only is he a good player, but he could also probably get a you a nice futures package. And not only that, we’d need to move him to make the cap work. I would probably do the package you asked for (I don’t think Eichel actually gets that much though) but we couldn’t do it with the cap.

I’m sure we can work something out on the financials, that package is something along the lines that it would take for me to listen for Eichel.

What if Rossi has health problems again? Adams is need to ask from Minnesota Kaprizov+, he is a real stud and will be a great addition for a young core. Dumba is not interested.

Too soon to blow it up.

Id rather they start moving out draft picks to move the likes of Skinner and Okposo.

Use that cap savings to make moves for one final win now push.

This is completely off the charts insane. Two prospects (one with an illness that may have ruined his career who by the we literally just passed over in the draft), a 4th line guy and two first in what will be one of the single worst drafts of all time for Jack (the fact there are ads on our end makes it even more ludicrous). Seriously that's worse than almost everything proposed in the trade board cesspool.

The fix the Sabres Model
