George McPhee would be my guess. If that is the case, why would they want C from Leafs? They already have Backstrom, Grabo (negotiations ongoing) and Laich.

Pretty sure McPhee was scouting Buffalo. Most teams scouts were there for the Sabres I believe, lots of tradeable assets like Moulson, Miller, Ehrhoff even, etc.
