Have I thought for us European Leafs fans, I’d watched all of the first 3 games, they have been starting at 12.30am, so normally a 3am+ finish without overtime.

I’ve been sleep deprived and finally called it a day at the end of the 2nd period in game 4 and missed the great comeback.

Being on the west coast (and working 4 and 4), I record about half the games since they start about an hour and forty minutes before I get home. I usually speed watch some of the game because I really do prefer catching up to where it's back on real time; usually the start of the 3rd period.

I've tried watching games on my phone at work as it does get pretty slow in the winter around 4pm local lime, but I get too ancy when a customer does show up and starts interrupting the game. lol
My problem is the commercials. There is often a 2 minute break before most power plays. I haven't seen an intermission show in years but I doubt that they are very entertaining either. This way we can get through the game in just over an hour and just have to avoid spoilers which is pretty easy.

May seem that way to you but breaks are at certain whistles, unless it's an icing or a team is on the PP.
Believe it's at 14:00, 10:00 and 6:00 minutes left in the period.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'll try to pay more attention.

we left the stadium in game 1 about 7 mins before the end of the game. And many fans did too.
Yeah, fans leave early all the time. I've seen it in close games, tie games and blowouts.
I'm not one to leave early, the 5 - 10 minutes saved isn't that important but I get some want to make it to the train.

I hope you at least waited for a whistle. Biggest peeve at a game is people getting up during the play.

If you're quick enough at the rink, as soon as you see the red light go on in the penalty box you can fly out for a drink or bathroom break and be back before puck drop. (Veteran move!)

I find this thread a bit odd. The premise is you are crazy enough about the leafs to have an account on a discussion forum dedicated to them (what must be a tiny minority of the fanbase) but fickle enough to not watch every minute of what is the greatest playoff spectacle in sports because you think there's better things to do.

You were right. Last night's first penalty just happened to be called when the last break was due. It's probably fairly probable that a penalty occurs just in time for the breaks.
