Samy was the first Leafs goalie not to shit his pants in an elimination game, he allowed only one goal. The only time in 20 years. So I don’t care about his saving percentage in the previous series. This one is again another Russian ski goalie. Hope he shows up again.

Good teams won't give them up, rebuilding teams don't have them. If you do happen to find one available they aren't cheap to acquire or in cap hit

Not to mention the assets you'd use to get them. Trade picks? Late firsts don't do much, prospects? outside of Knies it's pretty bare. A core piece, that will go over well. asking a NMC player to waive, nope.

Look at his numbers you can't dispute them.

And generally he has been solid. He was .919 from game 2-6 vs Tampa and made some really timely saves.

Picked it up toward the end, especially after PP. But the still played with no defensive urgency when the lead evaporated, and the keeper was there to make numerous above average saves.

Pulling it from the stats, from game 2 to 6. I literally said it last post.

I never claimed he’s been solid all the way, game 1 was bad, games 2-6 were solid. I haven’t liked tonight much.

Hence, generally solid

A Leaf fans always sounds kinda nuts when they call for the goalie change, but a couple of teams have already done so this post season so it's not that far from reality.

That said, we'd probably want to swap out PP1, the bottom six and all our defensemen too while we're at it.

Any Leaf goalie would have had to let in just one goal in each of the two games thus far in order to win both of them. That's asking for a lot, IMO. I don't think that switching from Samsonov to Woll is the ultimate answer here.

You're ignoring the butterfly effect of not allowing the 2nd goal softie. Who knows what would've happened after that.

You want your goalie to not allow terrible goals like that, so I think a change should be considered at least
