I’ll always be interested but I may think about investing less time in watching them next year. I’m in a European time zone so I have to make an effort to watch the games, early in the morning before work etc. I can’t just put the game on after supper like most people.

So we’ll see. I may just watch the highlights or condensed games for the regular season and then properly tune in at playoff time.
That’s more or less what I do with the Jays, if they’re having a good season, wait until after the all-star break and get the MLB package when it drops in price.

I will not let myself be emotionally invested in this team until Shanahan is gone. Every single season he is here is a wasted one. I will watch the occasional game, but that is all.

If a product/company were absolute garbage why would you keep buying it/investing in it? Time is valuable and the Leafs deserve little of mine.

They are far from garbage.

It's like the movie Groundhog Day. If they see their own shadow, good chance we get a flyby. Ohh scary. But I'll still watch. I don't like other sports much, just hockey, maybe a little bit of football.

We could put a poll on how many first round exists Dubas will get? I feel he's going to set a record.

The only thing I'm interested in with this team is change.

If there isn't enough change that would have me believe this team could potentially win a SINGLE ROUND then my interest will be very low.

Just not sold on the fact that this regime can produce a winner.

I'm 50 I've been a leaf fan my whole life. Unless there's changes to management or the core next season I won't watch. Where are you at?
I used to watch every single game.
Even stay up late for the 10:00 West games and drag my sorry behind to work the next day.

I will dial back and probably only watch once a week/Saturday night and start watching other teams a little more.

We will see. Depends on if Dubas and not NSYNC are still here.

f***ing little. There’s really nothing this team could do next season to get me excited in any aspect. I also think there’s a good chance the team takes a step back with their cap troubles and so many roster spots to fill.
I've been saying the same thing for a while. Dubas's murder of our salary cap and his subsequent selling of draft picks to mask it, is all leading to the destruction of what should have been 7-10 years of the Leafs as a top 5ish team. It has been depressing to watch it happen to the only team I've ever really attached myself to. To quote the British: Dubas is a wanker.

The regular season is going to be boring. They already finished first in the North and choked. Even finishing 1st in the Atlantic won't mean much.

I'd prefer to skip to the 1st round and see if they can do it this time around.

I recommend you skip to round #2. That way you will avoid another potential round #1 collapse or game #7 no show.

This will be the biggest season for me as a fan of any sport.

The raptors' 2019 season wasn't as high pressured as this.
Jays all in seasons in 2015/2016 weren't as crazy as this.

The Shanaplan either shows advancement and results or it's a total decomposition of this organization with management, coaches, players, scouts, etc all being purged.

My excitement is there, I'm ready to be disappointed again. If they lose like bitches in the 1st round again, I will be 100% pro tank/rebuild and for us to never hire an inexperienced individual like Shanahan, Dubas, Keefe were for a managerial/coaching role ever again.

The lowest since 2015-16, when I watched more Knights games than Leafs games, maybe lower. There's no real point to watching the season since the playoffs are all that matters for the club at this point and there's no real point to watching the playoffs since they always lose.

Heads need to roll in order to show me that there will be any amount accountability for failure before I'm getting seriously emotionally invested in this group.

Will be much easier to answer after seeing what they do this offseason.
I personally think they need to reconstruct the core and fix the messy cap situation.
If they come back with the same core with just some minor tweaks, I'll be pretty dissapointed.

If they bomb next season things will get interesting fast as Dubas and Keefe will almost certainly be turfed and you'll need to bring in a experienced GM who needs to right the ship quickly with Matthews only having a few years left before UFA.

Im watching the Kracken. I have wasted enough time on this team. They will never win with this garbage managment or this core. I doubt I will watch one regular season game.

Brutal honesty, I think this core as it is is f***ed and we won't see any significant steps towards true contention this era unless A) the prospects we currently have perform MUCH better than they're projected to, B) Campbell or whoever we acquire to play tandem with him goes on a Tim Thomas 2011 or J.S. Giguere 2003 heater and drags this team to multiple playoff round wins, or C) the least likely, someone (Marner) is moved from the "Core Fore" forwards and that money is re-allocated to better balance the team.

This team is top-heavy where the "top" fails time and again to show up when the games matter most. They don't have the cap room to acquire any good depth or really even fill out the rest of the top six with actual top six level talent. And God Forbid one of the top guys gets injured, then this team really shits a brick.

There's just no maneuverability to truly address what plagues this team, nor is their any will to shake up a core that's failed time and time again. Can't believe the position this team is in. 5 years ago we all thought this core was destined for greatness, instead they've shit the bed for four consecutive playoffs afterwards and have trapped themselves with egregious contracts handed out to guys who didn't win shit to earn them. Yeah a pandemic that economically shattered the world contributes, but these contracts were already a problem before that.

By the time the cap goes up any significant amount the contracts of every key player on this roster, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares, Muzzin, and Brodie, will be up. And half of those guys will be out of their primes and the youngest three will probably want raises again despite there being a good chance of them continuing to not win shit between then and now. Rielly is up sooner than that and who knows how much he'll sign for. Hyman is most likely already gone. Campbell is up next year and who knows what he will command in a contract, or if he even is the answer in net over a full seasons work and isn't just facing mediocre teams all year.

This doesn't even take into account the competition we'll be facing going back to the Atlantic division. You've got Tampa and Boston who I'll never bet on to decline, Montreal and Florida who have good teams and great young players of their own, and Ottawa and Detroit who've got great prospects and could rise at any moment, especially Detroit since they've got Yzerman at the helm, and he's actually built a Cup contender before.

It's over. By the time this team can seriously think about contending for a Cup, Shanahan, Dubas, and Keefe will be gone and the only players left who could actually contribute will be maybe Rielly and two of Matthews, Marner, or Nylander.

It depends on the offseason. If they keep the big 4, I don't see how they can create a team that is competitive next year. Maybe if they convince a lot of players to take discounts and Robertson, Sandin and Liljegren have awesome seasons. At the moment, I feel like we might miss the playoffs next season

Enjoy your expansion experience. The might be good like the Knights.
