The worst is almost every thread topic that ends with a question mark. Basically people coming up with stupid opinions and disquising them as honest questions and sign off with a 'discuss'. Yea rite. Look at the first page of the main board at any given time. It's all just borderline trolling and I'm not too sure about the borderline part.

i disagree. i think most likely they are. the point is you dont have to say it. just post what you have to say and if someone gives you BS about it ignore them.

Pet Peeve Statement: "Coach X is a genius/needs to be fired" For my Leafs, "Babcock is a genius (or needs to be fired after a loss)."

Why it exists: Simplistic thinking and convenience of laying all the blame or praise on one person.

Why it's not reality: The influence on players and tactics in modern hockey is massive. My Leafs have 8 OTHER coaches on Babcock's staff and we also have 7 OTHER people responsible for player development. I haven't even touched on Dubas' analytics group. At the end of the day, we probably have more Coaches/Consultants than we do players.

The Head Coach's main function has become to be the PR face of the team. Wins and Losses? That's a complete team effort.
