What's the deal with all the underachieving players this season?

Ah yes let me consult my fantasy team.

Yes - Robertson, Stamkos, Verhaeghe, and Tkachuk can all kiss my ass right now.

At least Verhaeghe had a beautiful assist on the ENG last night!

I think the game is simply played at such a high level now that it’s tough for guys to get it going some years. If their training was off, if they have some nagging issue, if they just aren’t feeling right.

Quinn is the guy for the Sabres- couple nasty injuries but he seemed to bounce right back. Now he has a full healthy offseason, yet enters this year lookin awful out there.

It’s just a tough sport, man. There used to be like a 5%+ skill gap between the worst and best NHLers. Now dudes battle like hell because it’s closer to 1%. (I made those numbers up, but you get the concept. Player parity is real).

Why is it typical Flyers for him to do well elsewhere. Bobrovsky is pretty old news.
Bobrovsky is like 13 years ago, of course it's old news. Why even bring him up?

But speaking of Flyers goaltending, both Anthony Stolarz and Alex Lyon have both improved since leaving the team. Lyon has been better than expected playing for Detroit and Stolarz is not only better than expected, but playing extremely well for Toronto.

The hell is this thread? Season just started. I am for example sure that Pasta will outscore Nečas despite Nečas absolutely killing it right now. There is just no way in hell of Necas nearly tripling his points totals from previous season and if yes i am gonna cut my balls and rub some salt in the wound.

The Players isnt't until March 11th, can't predict it yet.

I think Scottie Scheffler might be high up on that list though. I feel like he became the modern day Tiger Woods this year.

As for this thread, should I try to trade Pastrnak and Marchand in Fantasy? Those players have been struggling a lot this season and it's depressing.

Great job. But surely you must have meant to include Hintz in that spot instead of Hutson?

I mean I'm not going to debate those 2 aren't better after leaving Philly but I wouldn't say it's necessarily something worth noting as 'typical'. Seems most players that get let go by the Flyers end up doing nothing. If Frost ends up leaving, recent history shows he'll likely end up out of the league fairly quickly after.

Don't say that. Frost is a 70-80 point C on any other team in the league except the Flyers because of Torts.

I hate to love the Stars so tried to give them a break and look at it like Seguin is taking his points right now. They feel like the Blues of 2019 where no one is going to put up a ton of points and they could easily win the Cup because they're so deep. Hintz's ceiling to me is a ppg player so putting up 60-70 wont be insanely off the mark.

And Hutson was a minor joke with how much Habs fans pumped him up lol.
