I wanna Play against playoff goalies who cant stop a beach ball with a boat oar.

Thats how we got here.

I would like the Rangers to face a team who has goaltender who cant stop a beach ball with a boat oar. because thats how we got here.

Ya don't say?

Said this in the Florida PGT the other night - but my order: BOS>WSH>PIT>MTL

But the absolute fear I'm seeing in here of Pitt is a bit much... If they want to win, they've got to beat the best teams; simple as that.

Probably a reason people ignored you the first time you said this.

Oh you internet sleuth you !

I'm figuring Holtby would be solid, he has been in the past Fleury could be bad in the playoffs. Rask has been good. So I change my mind, the most likely to give us gift goals that lead us to any success will be Pittsburgh.

I don't really care honestly. If you can't beat the best teams, you're not going anywhere. Bring on whoever and let's see if this team can come out with a new attitude and make some noise.

ABP.

anybody but pittsburgh. i honestly think any other matchup is a tossup. yea montreal owns us but that gets thrown out in the playoffs, they dont scare me, in a full 82 game season i think we finish ahead of them.

In the case of the Canadiens, the past is indeed the future for the Rangers.
They would be dispatched tout suite. Never mind not winning in Montreal, they would also go down at MSG.
I went through the torturous Tony Robbins positive thinking thing, but in the end, the Rangers look like boys against Montreal.

Pittsburgh? Yeah, would be good
Boston? Yeah, would be okay
Washington? Not my first choice, but could be do-able
Montreal? Not a hope in hell

Putting my money on a 1st round matchup vs. Boston. If so, we're looking at something like this:

1) Wed night in Boston
2) Friday night in Boston
3) Sunday afternoon at MSG
4) Tuesday night at MSG

for what its worth theres a similar thread on the bruins board and theyre all basically saying "anybody but the rangers." they want no part of us.

Interesting. Muahahahaha.

Seriously though, I want the Bruins myself. I am in no way writing them off but in comparison to the other 3 options, we do best against them historically.

Tomorrow we're on the buffalo bandwagon. A regulation win by them over the isles and we might be able to rest some guys on saturday. At the very least we would finish no lower than 7th.

Makes sense really if you think of it outside of the constant self-loating this board is full of. Hank, Nash, Stepan 2.0, McDonagh... not really guys I'd want my team to play against in the first round.

Don't know why i found it funny but "Stepan 2.0"

Bring on the Habs...they are soft...like us... other than Prust and have no heavyweight to pound us like Sens did last season which crippled us the rest of the way . The Leafs just manhandle the Habs...and score at will....there is absolutely no reason why we cannot do the same if Tort's the Clown can get them motivated to play...and personally...he has done a bad job of that this season .

Sure Boston would be our best matchup, but you have to look past that. What happens when we beat Boston? We have to play Pittsburgh. I hope we get 6th, beat Washington and pray a hot Isles team beats Mtl/Boston so that we don't have to play the Pens in Round 2.

Round 1:
Pens-Senators
Habs/Bruins-Isles
Rangers-Caps
Habs/Bruins-Leafs

Round 2:
Pens-Isles
Rangers-Leafs/Bruins/Habs

This has been my thought too.

Don't want to deal with Pittsburgh. Washington with a hot Ovechkin is dangerous. We can't win at the Bell Centre.

That leaves Boston.

I didn't want to post in this thread or vote until the Rangers had that 'X' next to their name in the standings. Thank God it's there now.

Boston, Washington, Montreal, Pittsburgh. In that order.

I'm not expecting a first round win from this team, in all honesty. But that doesn't mean I'm not excited as **** about the playoffs, nor does it mean that I don't believe this team can get out of the first round, because you bet your ass I do.

If Hank gets hot, and Nash comes to play, if Staal comes back healthy soon, and Dorsett makes a prust-like impact. If the secondary scoring continues to shine, if Derek Stepan plays like the #1 center he is growing to be. If Richards's new found scoring ability continues, and Dan Girardi never sees PP time ( ;) ).

MY BODY IS READY

I can't imagine any team in the top three HOPING they get the Rangers in round 1.

LETS DO THIS!

BOS. Don't want anything to do with OV, who is at his best. And they're ****ing shutdown defenders. BOS is well rounded, and I don't see us as favorites going into this series, but I like our chances better.

Yup everyone (including me) is fretting about playing you guys, especially considering Lundquist's numbers against us. You guys traded Gabby though and he was always a huge Bruin killer so that may help in the Bruins advantage. That being said, I still almost would rather the Bruins finish 4th and play Toronto since we usually walk on them.
