. Until Matthews contract expires seems like the second most likely scenario
I voted moving a core player. A bold move or two could possibly improve TOR's situation.
But honestly I don't know. I cannot believe no one was fired through that mess. Is Tavares going down in game 1 going to let them off the hook? It can't be.
Makes sense.Until Matthews contract expires seems like the second most likely scenario
It's not likely scenarios, it's what is your trigger.
It's plain stupid sire. Nobody gittin fired after yet another let down f*** up season. Wow sire, wow.I voted moving a core player. A bold move or two could possibly improve TOR's situation.

Problem is, he'll then just comply, and not worry about return. But if the team fails in round 1 again this year, I think ownership gives him an ultimatum - make a core altering move or we'll find someone who will.
So if there was an "if he doesn't move a core player next offseason" option, I'd pick that.
Would people actually be happy with a 2nd round exit ? There's even more pressure on these guys next year than there was this year. ECF appearance or he's gone. He should've been fired already but since he isn't, anything short of a ECF and he should be sacked.
I'm tying Dubas pink slip directly to Mitch Marner. He should already be shown the door but if Mitchy turns in another dud next playoffs (should the Leafs make it) and they are bounced out again that should be that. Shanny right behind him too.
If they beat a clunker team next year in round 1 and get swept round 2 we still suck
I like that.I'm tying Dubas pink slip directly to Mitch Marner.
Realistically, ownership hasn't been too handsy, so he'll probably get this year at the very least. But if the team fails in round 1 again this year, I think ownership gives him an ultimatum - make a core altering move or we'll find someone who will.

I've decided Dubas has permanently handcuffed the team with overpay contracts and must go now. It's not a winning formula and he's been mortgaging the future for many years.
IMO Leafs need at least a round 1 win this upcoming season, and if they go out in round two it better be a passionate seven game series.
