What would it take to get Mcdavid to the Leafs?

Does he have a NMC or you saying no chance the Oilers would even consider moving him?
Oilers will not move mcdavid. Very small chance he asks for a trade, seems to be that kinda guy obviously everyone has their boiling points, but we have better chance waiting out the 5 years.
Tho if that 5 years we better have went past the first round lol

With him in an Oilers uniform and nobody outside of Canadian media gives a damn about the Oilers.

Imagine what happens to that wheelbarrow franchise when McDavid is not there.

they fall off the map completely.

If I'm Dubas I'm willing to move both Matthews and Marner to Edmonton in a blockbuster deal

Remember McDavids excitment when Edmonton won the draft lottery

Not happening...

But if they wanted to try, you'd start with with the following.

To Toronto
Connor McDavid

To Edmonton
Auston Matthews
Mitch Marner
Rasmus Sandin
Rodion Amirov or Nick Robertson
2022 1st round pick

If would basically have to be a franchising changing asset haul for Edmonton to give up on him right now, IMO. Even then, they say no 99% of thr time because he's best player of his generation by a considerable margin and he's just entering his prime.

I feel like the oilers would want one of Brodie/Muzzin.

God no, that’s a huge overpayment

Wouldn't surprise me to see McDavid go to a team down south where hockey isn't the primary sport and a contender.

It's unfortunate that NHL gm's are unwilling to make big bold bets to improve their team. They'd rather play it safe just so they can keep there jobs.

NHL gm's should take a lesson from NBA gm's

It would probably be

Matthews
Riley
Brodie
Pick

At a Minimum

Don't underestimate how good this dude is.

Also unlike Dubas their GM signed him to a longer term deal.

So he has 6 years remaining

Realistically only happens if he wants out

I'd do
Matthews + Rielly + Amirov + in a heartbeat
(even if he said "I want out, and only Toronto")
