I really hate you for this, but also love you for this. What was the bray of pinching benches?
Really?I think it is self explanatory but it is because there are only a few hundred pro athletes in each sport that are very specialized at what they do. When is the lady time paid to watch a teacher teach? A doctor perform surgery? A librarian put away books? I could go on...Why not?
How did you know???Thread title sounds like an angry email from his mom to the coach
Finally a voice of reason! Agreed.Honestly coaches should come up with a punishment other than sitting the player for a game. Just bag skate him hard at the next practice.
Benching one of your best players and perhaps losing the game because of it doesn't seem worth it and it's not like Tampa is in a secured playoff spot.
The point , pun intended, is it was not some random 3rd or 4th liner who got benched. he made an example of a star player and the team proceeded to get smoked in their game
Wonder what the Pointer sisters think about this, are they excited?Cooper on scratching Point after missing a team meeting.
"We've had a standard since I've been here ... It's professional sports and you've got rules and nobody's above the law. It's unfortunate because this game we could have really needed him, but the one that probably feels the worst about it is Pointer."
It appears that is what he did by sitting him. I am interested to see the long term effect on the dynamic between player and coach. What happened in the game is probably the least important fact here. Cooper didn't do it to motivate his team for this game. You stick by your rules because it gives your organization strength over the long run.
Wow. Not sure why you are making this personal but I have a job with very real responsibilities. We cannot compare pro sports to typical jobs. It is not even close to the same.
It appears that is what he did by sitting him. I am interested to see the long term effect on the dynamic between player and coach.
I am surprised that Jon Cooper would bench his number one centre before inter-division game! I think it took balls but what does it accomplish? He is also coaching him in the 4 Country Cup.
It obviously did not sit well with the Bolts who laid an egg rather than responding to their coaches decisive move.
Nothing anymore nowadays lol…. Hence why some get confused by people needing to be held accountable for their actions. It’s foreign for many people! They are the players boss, if you missed mandatory meetings at work what happens to you?
If this has a long term effect of the dynamic between Point and Cooper then Point is a hell of a lot more mentally weak then we all thought. It appears that is what he did by sitting him. I am interested to see the long term effect on the dynamic between player and coach.
