My runner up is 2010, losing the playoff spot in the shootout in the last game of the season. I was in a funk for days after that.

My vote went to the Cup loss. Partly because I thought we screwed ourselves over (AV would get the lead and then try and turtle out the 1-0 win in every. single. game. I still think that we could have won that series if they played to win rather than to not lose). But the main reason that one hurt the most was that it really felt like that was the point where it became clear that the team wasn't really a contender. We weren't elite anywhere but in goal, and to win a Cup with a team like that, everything has to fall your way. That year, it really felt like things WERE falling out way. So many come from behind series. So many different heroes. Then, with that loss, the realization really hit that the odds were pretty good that THAT was Henrik's one real chance at a Cup w/the Rangers.

With this current group, it's the exact opposite. We're on a similar sort of run through rounds one and two, but it's more of a pleasant surprise, with the awareness that the team will likely be MUCH better in the next few years

Definitely 2015.

2014 we were the underdog, anything after coming back from 3-1 against the Penguins was just gravy. In 2015 we were the President's trophy winners, with home ice, and had just blown the Bolts out in Tampa. To get shut out at home, the dagger coming on that Killorn softie was just gut-wrenching. I still have that stupid ass floating backhander seared into my memory.

This is why I always post "f*** Alex Killorn" and why I will always hate him

Series isn't done yet obviously, but these last two games have been so satisfying. Feels like long overdue revenge, and what better way to open a new contending window than beating the shit out of the team that closed our last one?
Agree!

me personally:

0-2 Tampa game 7, that was an emotional black hole. Nail in AV's coffin.
Cup Finals Kings - in family bragging rights too ... ugh
ECF Debbies - Just useless.

2015

At the start of the Kings series, I never truly believed we could win to be honest. Was not expecting to win that series. Despite that, the team put up a good fight and given how close those games were, it could've gone either way.

2015 was more painful. I expected them to beat TB. I really expected a Cup that year. Losing that Game 7 stung real bad.

I almost spent $700 on a ticket to that game. One of the most frustrating games in recent memory.

That bothered me and the Ottawa series really bothered me. Should have won both. LAK was a rough loss but I didn't think we matched up well against them and I'm more mad at the refs than the Rangers for blowing leads.

The cup final loss wasn’t the heartbreaker for me as much as losing the first few games the way we did after blowing the lead. That team had just an average regular season and had to overcome a lot to make the finals.

The following season was really rough because we knew we were contenders all season and came up shorter. Sure Richards, Pouliot, and some other guys had gone but the foundation was there still for a serious cup run. Unfortunately Marty St Louis finally hit the wall that year (of course, three months after we got him) and Zuccarello got knocked out of the playoffs.

So I’ll vote 2015 versus Tampa just personally.

Poll is a great idea, nicely done. The years blend for me so this really helps separate the stories. ‘17 was brutal…would vote ‘15 TB, followed by ‘12 NJ - even more so than the LA series. Great job with this.

The cup final loss to the kings will haunt me forever no matter if they win 10 more cups in my lifetime. Still refuse to watch the ending of game 5.

I love watching playoff OT winner videos on YouTube but I have to keep my finger on the FF button for when that pops up.
