They don't have the best collection of centres in Buffalo, the opportunity to make that team was there.

Tyler Ennis is a Center as well, Grigorenko is playing on the 3rd line with Ott and Leino. He's just getting a look, he could be sent down after his 5 games.

I wish "send him down without playing him at all" was a poll option, you guys took for granted he'd even get the 5 game look. I guess Gardiner will be good to go. This is what is best for the player, there is no question. It has nothing to do with having the ability to play in the NHL and everything to do with the fact he's just a kid. If you follow junior hockey at all you'd realize that a lot of these guys being drafted aren't very far removed from trick or treating yet. He got to throw the jersey on and skate around with the boys, that's probably enough for now. His dad probably had a happy accident in his pants when he saw him out there with Phaneuf.

Something its important to remember is that Morgan Rielly will be back in Toronto one way or another in the middle of March.

Moose Jaw is the last place team in their conference, they probably wont make the playoffs, and their season ends March 16. The Marlies have around 15 games after that time period, and the Leafs will probably have 20.

So barring an injury or a Moose Jaw surge, Morgan Rielly will wear blue and white before this season ends

you're assuming the Leafs have enough injuries that they'll need to call him up, presumably head of others players that are higher than him on the depth chart
