What to do with Marian Gaborik?

The problem with LTIR is that it might help us this upcoming season, but the years after that are uncertain. What if in fall of 2018 he is fully recovered and can play hockey. Gaborik may come off LTIR, which makes it impossible for us to sign someone with his same cap hit over the summer.

Unless it is certain that the type of injury Gaborik suffered is permanent, I doubt we get any benefit from putting him on LTIR.

You buy him out in 2018 which is much better than buying him out this year (if they could) I believe

Pretty sure the Leafs did something similar this past season with Lupul. If the Kings can do similar with Gaborik, then why the hell not? Blake is a weasle, he'll find a way.

That could eliminate one albatross.

If I had to guess, based on the usage of "procedure" and the length of time he's out he had microfracture surgery.

Hopefully he is able to recover 100%.

I have an S7 Edge and I can honestly say it has NEVER slowed down once in the time I've owned it; it's been an amazing device. However, it basically freezes up when I log onto this site. I start to type, that ****ing HORRIFIC video starts playing right above the text box, and it immediately seizes. Whoever green lit these ad boxes needs their nipples strapped to a car battery.

Don't get me started on the FULL SCREEN ones on a tablet. RUBBISH!!!

And they're always nonsense like a car ad or some travel Malaysia nonsense. If you're gonna shove an ad down my throat at least bring back the Game of War one where Kate Upton's rack is full screen. Do me a solid.

Better, but not much better. There's a lot of dead cap space for 19-20 and/or 20-21 any year you buy him out. Of course if you buy him out this year, there's dead cap until 2025. Do it next year, dead cap until 2024, and so on.
