Yes! Henrik has never cared about winning the cup. Lets just forget the game 6 and 7 shutouts in the playoffs last year.

I'm thrilled Lundqvist is playing better. I don't think it has much to do with his upcoming play for Team Sweden as it does with the teams defense of late and Henrik getting out of his own slump. But whatever keeps him going is fine by me.

Not too much loose about it. It seems like when the team is on, everything works out, but when the D loose their men, fail to cover the crease, etc. we get bombed.

And 8 years defines a career in which Lundqvist has had very conscientious defense in front of him.

Since the end of December we've scored, and defended better than I've almost ever seen. The offense grows from the defense. Lundqvist's turnaround makes sense.

And before you go off saying that I'm anti-Lundqvist, I'd just like to be clear that I'm not.

I dont think you are.

I do think you are severely overrating the defense in front of Lundqvist before this season.

I'll be rooting for Team USA. And I truly hope that most of you US based fans will do too.

Yeah, except not really. MAYBE the last 3 years, sure. Without question the first half of 2011-2012. Besides that I think it's easy enough to argue this point.

I don't know how you come to that conclusion.

Although it doesn't mean much, Hank is second in "star points" for NHL.com's three stars so far this season.

Because I like the dynamism of our man-to-man D. I am enjoying what I'm seeing. I like it much more than six goalies and I like it more than the somnabulent Renney era D. I like to see it click and like to see what it means for Lundqvist and the O.

I think Hank will get a Cup when all is said and done. I just hope its with the Rangers

The point of this post, is that I believe winning The Cup is the most important accomplishment there is to him in his career. I think he wants it THAT bad.

Whether or not that happens with The Rangers is entirely up to The Rangers organization. IMHO

Do I care if he wins it with another team? You bet I do.

I care because I will be ****ing pissed the **** off.

So far, besides giving up a lot more Grade A chances this season and leading to almost no even strength offense, its working out just great.

Well deployed sarcasm. Really required it there. Thanks.

So I guess you've decided that things haven't come together since the end of December. I guess you classify the games during this little run as the same as those games on the opening west coast trip or our first home stand. Odd.

Difference is, I think they have turned a major corner. I think you can look back at the past few games and you won't see those Grade A chances and because of the decrease in them you see the entire team playing better, starting in goal.

See I disagree. I think if you look at this little run, which is still far too brief to call turning a corner - c'mon, this is the rangers, what you'll see us phenomenal goaltending and Hank looking like the backbone he's been in previous seasons. The grade A chances are happening, he's just stopping them now. And the whole team isn't playing better. His many saves did Hank make the last two games against Tampa and Detroit only to receive one goal of support. And how about Tampa's second goal? Not a grade A chance yielded? But this same little run, which is just as easily a two game losing streak, despite Hank only allowing 2 goals between the 2 games, if not for Zucc getting a lucky fluke past Howard, is supposed to signify us turning the corner? This is why I'm still upset that we're looking ore like buyers than sellers. We're still the same weak, mediocre team.

I think Hank will finish the season with around a .920sv%, which I guess is under-performing for the standards of the best goalie in the world, but his numbers at the beginning of the year (where the team was trash) really skews up his numbers.

You guess? Your eyes can't even see the difference in his performance? Even the biggest Hank lovers will tell you that there is a huge difference in his level of play between the start of the season and now, regardless of the team's performance.
