Agreed.
Honestly half the time Player X is "guaranteed" to sign with their hometown team..... I find it rarely happens.
It happens at times but it's not that typical. However, Dubois's situation is different because his actual agent said he would like to play for the Habs.
And there is too much context to ignore in this case. I'm not 100% he comes to the Habs in the next 2 years but I'm around 60-80%. If there was little context other than him being from Montreal, I'd have lower % but once again, there is too much information that was released to ignore it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah......................and multi player trades like NHL23 never happen.
Make the 1st top 3 protected.....I mean, I understand the Bedard argument, totally, but especially after today, you had better get while you can, because the east is going to be a slug feast for years....
I would even consider the Florida or the worse of the 2, just to give you more protection...........
You are more worried about insulting me, than having a genuine conversation.
Trade is not happening until after the season ends and at that point, we will know where both our pick and the Panthers pick is. This is likely a draft day trade.
I wonder what happens if the Panthers pick wins one of the lotteries. Small chance but lets say it happens. Then what? Habs have 1 or 2 and the 8th pick? I'm open to trading a pick from 12-18 range but I'm not trading the 8th pick. Then we get into a situation where other teams could trade for his one last RFA year and they will try to use late 1st rounders and B+ prospect. Habs would be in a bidding war with those types of offers so we may decide to take our chances he reaches UFA.
