Good stuff my friend!! I was a drummer in my younger days and really took a liking to the complexity of Fusion, especially the Mahavishnu Jean Luc and Chick Corea.
Awesome! The drummer for the 1970s Herbie Hancock stuff is also unreal. I don't even understand the time signatures he uses. LOL

Simply amazing bassist. Founding member of Return to Forever.
This is why I cannot listen to music today!
They set the bar so high back then and without all of the recording tricks of today’s studio sessions.
Please , your making me cry with any mention of today’s music
It’s literally the worst era and getting worse by the minute...
Grunge was the last well needed Kick in the teeth to music , then that started to “ our lady of Peace “ rightfully die lol
And other than the obvious talented people out there since here and there , its Bad real bad !!!!
That’s why for anyone over 50 ( my case almost 70 ) Apple Music and Spotify and YouTube have saved my Effin life
I haven’t listen to radio of any kind in almost 15 years

Good thread! I am not a rap guy, but I like this guy's message in his songs - just discovered him recently. Tom MacDonald.

"It's crazy I'm the one they label as controversial and Cardi B is the role model for 12 year old girls"

"The truth doesn't damage points of view that are legitimate"

“The difference between hate speech and speech that you hate..”

“Order food and call the cops, see what reaches you first.“

"They gave us tiny screens we think we free cause we can't see the cage"

We used to go to Buffalo to Rich stadium to watch most of our concerts in Merica
Right on! Saw a lot of great shows at Rich Stadium being from Niagara Falls, Ny.
The good old days! Never any trouble like today’s venues.
My parents would drop us off at the Stadium for concerts when we were 14 years old, and they knew we would be fine, and we were.
I remember a Stones show in the 70’s and it was pouring rain, bunch of hippies saw we were alone and soaked and squeezed us into their van to dry off. Good times!

Haha...I can tell from the posters in this great thread; those who get it.
My 20 year old nephew is listening to what I grew up on, because I made him listen! Lol
And now, he gets it!

I saw Led Zeppelin at Maple Leaf Gardens 1971 , I believe. Grade 8. My band is/was Grand Funk Railroad. I saw them at the Gardens too. You guys talking about great drumming, check out Grand Funk Live album. Yes, I listen to it still.

Grand funk was a beast of a band
So underrated
A lot of these bands unfortunately were killed by radio overplaying their one or two radio hits and then left them to dry without playing other great tunes of theirs
