doesnt always follow

The leafs core 4 dominate advance stats and possession chances but all fall of a cliff from reg season to playoffs in ppg

Meier could be of the same variety

That's why I said likely because you're right, sometimes it doesn't. Definitely not a guarantee.

The last playoffs he was in, he had 15 points in 20 games, so putting up points isn't an issue (though the five goals was below his regular season rate).

I’d argue that he just needs more time to gel, it took kadri time to gel in Colorado after Toronto continues there endless roster shuffle.

Yup they were disappointing, difference is I can admit it while you have some fantasy that Meier played well lmao.

And yea, i sure hope a 55 point scorer isnt making 11M. Anything over 7.5M will be hilarious.
He’ll be fine. Sometimes it takes time to gel. If NJ can get a goalie their coming out of the east next year.

As a Devils fan I have zero worry that we don’t extend him on reasonable contract .
He just moved across the country and away from the only team and city he has known his entire adult life to date . He will be more than fine and will continue to put up 30-40 goals a year and bring a much needed element to the Devils game .

You do everything to keep him, because that kind of player is useful. Problem IMO is that Timo had no set place on the Devils. So I think the Devils will have to choose between Bratt or Meier. If you're the Devils, I personally get rid of Bratt for Meier.

Meier had a better xGF% in these playoffs than Rantanen, Aho, Marner, Nylander, Horvat, Draisaitl, McDavid to name a few. He didnt get the bounces...sometimes it happens over a 5-10 game stretch. He still played well.

You score or you don't score. You generate or you don't generate. Meier is useful but his playoffs were anything but disappointing. His whiff cost the Devils game 5 no matter what.

He did generate but the fancy stat stuff is basically reaffirming what he did right. Dude just couldn't find the back of the net.

he shot 5% in the playoffs. He is a career 10-11% shooter. Sometimes, over a small sample size, the puck doesn't go in. The chances were there, which is the important thing moving forward.
