Mentioning character and sportsmanship as reasons Marchand should not get into the HHOF is odd considering who is already in the HHOF. Marchand is a saint compared to some of those players.
Peak Marchand was not only an elite scorer as others have pointed out with stats, but his defensive stats when playing on the same line as Bergeron were filthy during those years. Bergeron/Marchand was one of the elite duos of this century. Much like Bergeron, when you look beyond the simple stats you see a very elite complete player. But, I know, he licked someone so boo hoo.
