Yes. Both probably were.Do you think either Sedin brother was a better player than Marchand?

He can really thread the needle and have Stamkos, Karlsson and Kopitar in there too at the same time.I think he really only has to retire not at the same time as Crosby, Ovechkin, Malkin and... I dunno, Doughty? Hedman?
Basically, make sure he doesn't retire the same year as four guys that are very obvious HHOFers.
I think if Theo can go a couple years without saying anything crazy, he's in.I sorta feel like Theo Fleury will get in before he does.
Off-ice antics aside, but aren't they the exact same player on the ice?
Nor should he be. Mogilny is more deserving than Elias. So is Rod BrindamourPatrick Elias isn't currently in.
Marchand would need a hart caliber season or 2 to be 1st ballot
Lots of guys deserve to be there more than Theo. He's a parasiteI think if Theo can go a couple years without saying anything crazy, he's in.
I'm not judging his character. The numbers are indisputable.Nor should he be. Mogilny is more deserving than Elias. So is Rod Brindamour

So why not Almo? Better player than Theo or Pavel for that matter and I'm a Canucks fan.I'm not judging his character. The numbers are indisputable.
Mogilny not being in the Hall says more about the HOF than anythingSo why not Almo? Better player than Theo or Pavel for that matter and I'm a Canucks fan.
How is Roddy not in? Guys like Carbo and Duff and Lowe and Gillies water skied off the backs of good players. May as well put John Tonelli or Ken Morrow in.
Mogilny has to be in. I'm not disputing that. It's a mystery to me why he's not. Rod too.So why not Almo? Better player than Theo or Pavel for that matter and I'm a Canucks fan.

More like 8 years and a pretty decent playoff resume as well.If he were on a small market team his name would never even come up in hall of fame discussions. Playing for Boston probably gets him in eventually even though he shouldn't be in. Had a really good like 4-5 year stretch but other than that his career has been nothing remotely special. Rounds out to hall of very good
Almo a better player than Bure....maybe in certain years but consistency matters one would think. So why not Almo? Better player than Theo or Pavel for that matter and I'm a Canucks fan.

Bure had more injury issues, but both were great wingers. Both a notch above Marchand.Almo a better player than Bure....maybe in certain years but consistency matters one would think.
Pavel also has the better playoff resume.
Him being a dick hurts his chances for first ballot !Lack of any individual awards hurts the case for 1st ballot IMO
Kariya and St. Louis were far better than Marchand. Wilson is just hard to compare.Maybe, with guys like Paul Kariya, Doug Wilson, and Marty St. Louis in there, I can see how Marchy would have a case.
Do you think either Sedin brother was a better player than Marchand?
Mathematially he needs to be a top 40 player of a decade.A lot of Marchand's resume seems to be around team accomplishments. Stanley Cup winner? Zach Bogosian is a Stanley Cup winner...
And honestly who cares about any records about being part of an original 6 team? Captain of an original 6 team being criteria? Brian Gionta was captain of an original 6 team. Feels like we're grasping at straws here to overcome the lack of individual hardware. He was in the 5-10 range for top forwards in the league for 4 or 5 years. Not sure if that qualifies for HOF.
Shea wasn't even that and got in.Mathematially he needs to be a top 40 player of a decade.
He's borderline at best.
Is Bogosian the 2nd most productive defenseman since he became a regular in the NHL?A lot of Marchand's resume seems to be around team accomplishments. Stanley Cup winner? Zach Bogosian is a Stanley Cup winner...
