Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
Underrated film.
The original black and white version still gives me chills

Thought you'd go with Animal House

My wife has the new CX-5. Thing is a downright beauty inside and out. Drives really well also.
CX 5 is definitely in the running for me, though the lease is $50 a month more for a similarly equipped CRV. The second from bottom Trim model is the only one I can get in our budget, and barely. Only problem I have with the Touring (not grand touring or Reserve or whatever the next level is called) is that it doesn't have rails or a roof rack. IMO SUV's always look unfinished with something on top.

2015 VW Passat. I love the car but already had to have the engine replaced at 49,000 miles (under warranty). Piston broke and knocked out a Cylinder and the Turbo. Thinking of going Electric or a plug in Hybrid next. We just moved into a new home and it’s pre wired with the 220v outlet, plus we have solar panels. Even with the plug in Hybrid I would barely use any gas.

Wife has the 2018 Lexus RX, I like my 2013 Prius C, have had BMW's and the such but I like having a paid off car that is great on gas

This thread reminds me of Swingers, just saw the other night

Mike: Hey, how's it going?

Girl: What do you drive?

Mike: Pardon?

Girl: What kind of card do you drive

Mike - A Chevette.

Girl (puffs cigarette and turns back to girl she is talking to)

Ouch, that doesn't inspire much confidence. I've heard a lot about how much more reliable VWs are over the last 10 years or so, but I still have the Jetta and GTI near the bottom of my list because of stories like that. Not to mention their clutches apparently have a lifespan of 60-75k miles if well cared for (much less if not), and it's like a $1500 job to replace.

2016 Nissan Altima, but it's my "Travis Bickle-mobile." Rented to drive for Lyft as I find myself at odds with my previous career path *and* in a new city.

It's been "interesting," but I dig the car.

Not what they used to be. Had a couple of VW minivans back in the 60s, and you couldn't kill them with an axe.

Had a friend who did deliveries around the city in one. At about 450K miles, the body was rusting, so he dropped the engine into a newer shell. Last I heard, he was up to almost 800K.

Those little four-cylinder, air-cooled engines were amazing. Top speed in the van was about 55, but they just ran for ever.

Makes me miss my old Volvo - ‘76 Wagon!

Well after a month of shopping around I finally got a Mazda CX 5. It was a tough decision, and it came down to the CX 5 and the Forester. The ride is a no brainer, the CX 5 is much more fun to drive, but the reason I had a hard time letting go of the Forester was the spaciousness of the front seat and the tall glass all around that offers a much more panoramic view and no blind spots. I drive through pretty country to work and enjoyed the unlimited view of the Forester, there's a reason tour buses in scenic areas go with tall glass.

We've had CRVs and Foresters since 1999 and I needed a change. The CRV is a screaming deal and nobody gives you cargo space like Honda, they (CRVs) just seem a bit boring, although I can see why some people love them. I've disliked them a little more with each change and this one is too big for me. If they sold a 99 replica I'd buy one in a second. Back then they were closer to Jeeps than vans.

A couple of things from my visit to the Mazda dealer. I think the 2019 Mazda 3 hatchback may have the sexiest lines (and paint job) of any car not of luxury status. Also, Mazda is coming out with a car in the US next year that will slot in between the CX 3 and the CX 5.

I have a 2010 Lexus RX 350. Bought it back in 2013 at 37K miles. Up to 115K now. Not one problem (knock on wood). Very reliable SUV, really smooth drive. Just the routine things - tires at 100K, brakes pads, wipers.
